Driving through the city was pretty easy today. Traffic was super light. Hardly any buses or that sort of thing. Most construction jobs are stopped. even parking was reasonable.
Man I wish the STI came with adaptive dampers and a fast shifting automatic.

So are we not going to talk about the new FCA program of 84 months @0% and 90 days of no payments ... it’s practically free !Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 11:14 pm

I wouldn't turn down 0 for 84 if it were offered to me.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 12:07 amSo are we not going to talk about the new FCA program of 84 months @0% and 90 days of no payments ... it’s practically free !Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 11:14 pm

Depends how good the rebates are.
Right now, I view cash liquidity as king.

No one needs a new car ...
it’s a terrible time to buy ...
Goosing then purchase price 5-10k up and the stretching it into eternity monthly is literally one of the worst things anyone can do at the moment ....
I guess I just don’t get how it would work for anyone, not like a loan isn’t a liability.

People won't be unemployed forever. In the event of a lease ending or a car being totaled or something I could see it. $5-$10k in cash now plus payment deferrals could help weather the immediate storm with zero interest liability in the long run. There's worse financial decisions someone could make IF they NEEDED transportation.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:12 amNo one needs a new car ...

Running out and getting a new car just because of the 0 for 84 term is insane. Nobody should do that, agreed. Just saying that there are circumstances where it could make sense.

0 for 84 with 90 day deferral is "madness"?

In my opinion absolutely. If you are willing to give up a 10-20% discount on a vehicle and stretch payments into eternity you have no business buying. It’s like targeting crack heads for car sales, you know the outcome ....

I thought you meant "madness" offering it in the first place.
People choosing it...I'm still going with a maybe. Gotta have good credit, which means you're halfway smart...but it all depends on the situation and if the actual discount is really that great to begin with.
All speculating, I really don't know.

Correct, good credit is a requirement. But it also requires giving up substantial rebates and stretching the unknown into 7 years. I suppose I just think this sort of an offer does really work for both parties the buyer and the Corp.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:39 amI thought you meant "madness" offering it in the first place.

That said, I do think the whole buy at home thing is somehow this is finally pushing the dealer model into the Tesla model ...

My wife's lease is going back in three months and I don't know how long this stay at home game will last but chances are that we will all be at work in that time frame. In the mean time I wouldn't commit to another lease or purchase a vehicle to replace hers unless it's an incredible deal, like 20-30% off of existing inventory collecting dust/rust. Stretch pay on MSRP isHuckleberry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:46 am Are all of these deals in lieu of rebates?

Yeah, if they start throwing cash on the hood plus 0%, then my interest may be piqued.Tarspin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 11:55 amMy wife's lease is going back in three months and I don't know how long this stay at home game will last but chances are that we will all be at work in that time frame.
