Which parts ? other than the giant exhaust pipes, most everything is functional. 400rwhp sedan with a and fairly limited tech is still it'll be the last gasoline M3.

I'm glad the car itself exists because of what you mentioned, but overall if leaves me flat. There's creases, dips, swoops all over the sheet metal somewhat arbitrarily, and random black plastic shit sprinkled in everywhere. It feels like it's trying too hard to look fast, when that should go without saying being an M car. German cars used to show restraint in design, that's gone out the window at BMW. I'm just not a fan of that sort of design...but there's honestly not many modern sporty cars I like the look of.

I like all that shit, including the grille and the exhaust pipes. The BMW kidneys have had many permutations over time, nothing wrong with the grille. I do object to big and CHROME like on the SUV's doe.

Tesla is a bit too jelly belly. But I like the new BRZ quite a bit. It's a good blend of restraint and aggressive
Porsche still shows restraint in most vehicles (GTX cars aside).

Price is but this proves my point. Look at how nice and clean and simple that car looks. It's just slightly more aggressive facias, the bulge in the hood, and the fender vents. That's all it needed and you knew you had something special. I miss that. There's a reason these things are so pricey, and I believe it's due in large part to the styling.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 3:22 pm https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sal ... pe=listing

It is for performance no doubt. I just don't like that the car screams so much visually. That wasn't necessary with M cars in the past.

Yep. I mean at the end of the day E46 M3 IMO is the best looking m3 ever made... which is why I got one... but fk that car above 75k miles, it literally falls apart at the seams. And it sounds like crap...Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 3:26 pmPrice is but this proves my point. Look at how nice and clean and simple that car looks. In that color combo plus RWD spec I think that it's a fantastic M5.
The M2 is the new M3.

Wheel upsizing is still a big customer demand on all models. It's crazy. But 20's are just too big on something like a 3 series IMO, and I bet BMW was sick of paying warranty claims from bent wheels on the frotn.

It was quite difficult not to bend them in our shitty highways. Yesterday I drove my shitty taco to a friends house and I must have hit 4, 6" deep potholes... it would have been so fking painful in the M3. 20s were absolutely absurd. My m3 rode worse than an STI. It was probably the worst riding (harshness wise) vehicle I have ever "owned".

It does look like they are doing 18"/19" staggered now. I wonder why... other than ride quality as mentioned. BMW never had staggered (wheels vertical size wise). The car got bigger/heavier but wheels got smaller.. that's promising.

So I built my perfect M3.
Portimao Blue $550
18/19" wheels
Manual
Kyalami Orange/Black interior
Aluminum Trim
Ventilated Seats $350
Total is $71795
That's really and cheaper than my M3 comp which was $77,895 I believe.

I think I am almost "offended" that this comparison is being made. Purpose built performance sedan that has real fender flares/vents etc vs stick on black plastic BS/double wings and fake wheel arches on the Civic... and also... CIVIC

Yea, but the point is the designs looks similar. Busy, overdone, disjointed.
Performance between the two is not up for debate. The M3/4 (whatever the fuck, I can't keep track) is just...a lot to take in. Meh.

But the fuck do I know...I'm more likely to buy a rusted to shit cuck truck to ride for the next decade than a new BMW. I'm way out of the target demo, that shit is just lighting money on fire to me.

I completely disagree. There is nothing busy and overdone and disjointed. Ahhhh We got our first disagreement on hand.
