Fair enough. Affordable compared to a C7Z or C8, which would otherwise be my next move in sports car land. I have never Z carred, and I think it might be for me. I would oddly cross shop the 400Z and the new Golf R. I simply need to wait out this COVID thing and pursue other interests. Fortunately those guys in Pittsburg are ignoring me on my completely insane desire to swap the BMW for a 12 year old Mercedes with two f#@!Q$%!ing sunroofs. I mean, what could happen?D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:18 pmThis will be like +50% cost though, not exactly apples to apples.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:16 pm
+1 on all Cale comments. Put STI engine in it and call me tomorrow. In terms of affordable sports cars I would much rather 400Z.

I do agree, I like Zs and the 400Z looks to be really awesome and I think will still be a great value assuming they are in the $40-50K range (I'm not sure this will be the case). I would certainly go Z over Supra based on what I know today.

I think the Supra looks bad ass. Cannot get over the fact that Toyota just jammed a B58 in it though.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:46 pmThe final point is a win.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:24 pm

I agree, it looks gorgeous. I just don't really see it being worth $60K though, it is an M2 that is waay less practical. I would rather have an M2 or $60K of Corvette all day long. I suppose I would at least test drive it if in that category, but the no manual thing really gets me as well. C8 is badass enough to warrant getting an auto I think, Supra is quite there for me.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:50 pmI think the Supra looks bad ass. Starts around $40k according to this. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a3732 ... -nissan-z/
Doesn't mention how much the performance trim will add, but I think earlier it was rumored to be ~$5k. So $45k for the one you want which, yea, is close to 50% more than the BRZ/86.

It's like a Vantage that you can actually drive.
I like the blue interior, would be 5/7 with pearl white exterior.

It’s surprising to me how much of the 370 caries over. Very evident in the materials. Down to the door panels, seats, gauge pod on the dash, and the AC switches. All carryover. But I guess that’s how you do it to keep costs down and therefore sell it less than the pony cars.
I like that exterior. The braces in the front are strange but otherwise it looks good.

For a stock motor, that's insane since I average 12.5-13 in my stroked GTO.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:10 pm 26 MPG is acceptable to me, I mostly only drive my car highway on trips, my in-city driving is like once a week to the grocery store only.
That is worse than I thought though. My buddy here who had a 2013 FR-S got high twenties consistently around town and about 30 on the highway. Comparatively he now has a Boss 3bro2 and reports getting about 13
Yeah I think it looks badass and it a lot of car for the money at $45K. I don't believe that it will be $45K, but hopefully I'mDesertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 9:06 pmThat seems like a very fair price to me.coogles wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:27 pm

He lives/works in the city, so it is about the worse case scenario for mileage, but yeah pretty bad. I did average about 14 in my stock :ellisjuan: in similar conditions Big V8 cars suck for city use, they are built for the 'burbs.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 9:18 amFor a stock motor, that's insane since I average 12.5-13 in my stroked GTO.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 1:10 pm 26 MPG is acceptable to me, I mostly only drive my car highway on trips, my in-city driving is like once a week to the grocery store only.

15-20 stop signs before I hit a highway. Basically stopping every 300-500 ft.
CRV is doing 25 MPG in that scenario (rated 40 city)
Overall average is 37.7 right now, so it’s making it up on the highway.

This afternoon, I was in downtown Traverse City and watched a CRV hybrid roll by silently. From what I could tell, it was running in EV down the entire main street in the city (we caught up to it at lights), thus using zero fuel. I thought of you, does yours not do this?

They’re louder in EV mode than when the engine is running. Thanks to .gov forcing automakers to put a speaker underneath the car which is active up to like 25 mph.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 6:29 pmThis afternoon, I was in downtown Traverse City and watched a CRV hybrid roll by silently. It will coast in EV but almost any acceleration causes the gas engine to fire up. The battery pack is too small to supply enough power to the electric motor, it needs the engine running as a generator to make up the difference.
It’s not bad in concept, very smooth, but it does not work as efficiently as the Toyota system in reality. It was not made for city driving it was made for suburbs.

WRX reveal got pushed back a bit.
I’d get another in a heartbeat. It was the best car I’ve ever owned. I’d really want a DCT type version though.
I should get a Nissan Z.
