I think my STI is pretty close to an Evo really. Partly why I got it, many reviews stated it’s finally up to Evo level but has a better interior and I figured mitsu dealerships would probably cease to exist. I think I wanted an Evo 9 more... but didn’t let myself check one out.
Skyline because I love JDM stuff. I think my favorite car ever is the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. No way would I ever own one, as those cars are total basket cases now. I’ll never own an R34 either because of the price gouging on them.

I think most brands are doing some sort of 0% deal in the 60-72 month range right now.

cars or other things?Tarspin wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 2:22 pmOh boy, constantly dropping currency is a strong motivator to lock in a new car at today's prices with a set lending rate.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:16 am Coincidently Turkey's automotive world has jumped into the bandwagon as well. Just increased their financing interval to 60 months, just yesterday. But that's also due to currency constantly losing value, so it makes people buying cars much easier.
Edit: What are the rates/prices of some popular products we have here?
For cars. You pay extra taxes (called OTV) based on the displacement of the car, that money alone goes to the government (aka Erdogan). That's upcharged just recently and prices became absurd for that alone. Made me
Right now, 1.0-1.6 liters (regardless of how much HP, so a previous gen Polo GTI is reasonably priced in that book) have a 50% OTV. Like say a base 1.0 VW Polo 3 banger with a turbo is around 17,000 Euros, then multiply by 0.5 (50 percent) then that's where you'll see the price in Turkey, now 1 Euro is 9.60 turkish liras, a base polo is 242,000 liras ($29,000 usd) in Turkey. Even the highline model Polo is Golf R money in the US (same with Golf)
1.7-1.9 has 130% OTV, so even more expensive (hence why 2.0 are kind of rare).
2.0 and above are 150%, because of that you pay...wait for it...2.5 times more than the car itself if it was Europe. (it was around 120-130 for <2.0 and above just couple months ago)
A 2.0t audi A4 in the US is around $40K, in Turkey it's $90k
https://www.audi.com.tr/tr/web/tr/model ... stesi.html ( <-- here's an example, look at OTV on that, that's a 1.5 Golf highline money)
The government is thinking about axing that OTV off
Some brands also recently started introducing no interest rate financing due to rona and 60 month financing, max was 48 for the last 5 years and 36 months for higher interest rates. You're only allowed to lease a car as long as it is a company car (which few of my friends does), they don't have to pay for gas and can drive anywhere they want without issues.
In 2010, A golf used to be 50k liras, now it's no less than 200k liras. (which is )

50% to 150% OTV tax on something that is 2.5x price of the rest of the world is absurd. That place sounds like a financial dumpster fire, fully out IMO
Thanks for laying it out for me, I appreciate the effort.

compared to the Euro union countries, russia, ukraine, US and canada, yes. these OTV increase upcharges that just happened was basically on purpose for people to buy "domestic" cars. Renault, Hyundai, Citroen (only for one model that's made for developing countries, so doesn't exist in Europe), Ford (transit and Transit connect), Fiat (partnered with a Turkish company that doesn't have a modern lineup for almost 2 decades, until 2010 for Iran, Egypt, basically even more shithole countries) has their own factories in Turkey.Tarspin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:37 pmMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 12:07 pm

Although in Signapore, a Nissan Sentra is around $130k, a Civic is $180k. But the average salary are also higher than Turkey.

I'm sure the tires were done to try to save some range...but yea 1/2 a Bolt at best I'd assume in that heavy boxy thing.
I just think it's cool to see this stuff starting from a big company like GM.
