My 328i is one of the easier cars I've had to work ontroyguitar wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 2:07 pm I'm surprised that german cars even have hoods that can be opened by the "owner" (renter) anymore. No user serviceable parts inside.
Also... I put tap water in all of my vehicles cooling systems.... in4 desert
I'll have to check this one out next time, we had some epic food over there actually, but I don't remember the names. Most were really local hole-in-the-wall type places.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 9:17 amAwesome.
We loved it too, it was a highlight of our trip to Maui.

I knew I would find some disadvantages on this CUV that lacks some luxo driving, given the starting price is like $40k which is essentially a steal for a Luxo ute
Nephew of a a few first gen immigrant on DFD, resident turk, and ex nazi egg lover now driving a middle class mom mobile.

Back in the mini today.
Throttle response
Steering feel
Brake feel
lack of body lean
This thing feels like it has no powersteering
about any of that? You should if you love driving.

Today's treat.
2008 Z4si coupe
6Speed manual
Sport Seats
Aluminum Trim (real Aluminum)
50k miles (he doesn't drive period)
This is a super rare bird.
I am a linebacker 6'4" 230# now down from 240 thanks to Keto.. So keep this in mind.
Car belongs to my friend but I helped him buy it from Vegas a while back as he didn't know how to drive stick
He was getting some repairs done locally but has left to texas 4 months ago and left the car here to get fixed.
Lets start with the good:
Car idles very smooth, sounds decent, has a very good trans'clutch combo. It is quite easy to drive as it has a relatively large engine and relatively small curb weight.
Steering is nice and direct, but not as good as the mini it takes more input to steer this car.
Suspension is nice and compliant and the car is certainly not hard, it rides softer than my mini which is a bit surprising.
Car handles quite well, very predicable, and flatish through the turns.
Engine has just enough power, it never left me longing for MOARRRRRRR
What's bad: ?
Bluetooth is not usable, no one car hear you period
Dash is fugly, the coolant and fuel gauge are nearly illegible
Brakes are softish (this car just had its brake fluid replaced and uses OEM everything)
Road noise is significant, higher than in my mini and quite loud
SIZE! While this car actually has a decent amount of headroom, it is f'king claustrophobic inside, i rub elbows with my buddy when we drive Also my seat is all the way back and rubbing against the rear trunk partion etc. Steering wheel between knees etc.
Trunk is tiny as well, while the hood is enormously long with giant overhangs that catch on shit. It is a bizzare penis mobile driving experience.
For someone who is 5'11 or shorter I think this would be acceptable, but for a tall person this car is a place of misery. But i can't use that against the car per say.
Overall I'd say it is a solid 4/7 mobile, near 0 deprecation, easy(ish) to work on, relatively reliable, rare, and quite fun. Also it isn't overly expensive. And I would say other than for collectors, skipping the M version is key, as that motor is a pile of shit.
Nearly exact car minus color combo. His was too dirty to take pics of.
Dash of love in question.

They aged okay. I have feeling of buying Ray Ray's sometimes. The z4M version is a good bit more "raw". The foam in the steering column always was wtf. That and the plastic rattles. Id remove the plastic storage partition if I got one.
Yeah... just seems like you may as well go roadster for a midgit car or go for something more usable like Z or 'vette... but I guess the BMW gives something unique in the market for those who want something tiny that can be taken to track days.
