S2k roof comes off at least ...370z is quite wider and more spacious inside
Yeah... just seems like you may as well go roadster for a midgit car or go for something more usable like Z or 'vette... but I guess the BMW gives something unique in the market for those who want something tiny that can be taken to track days.
No depreciation and rare af they only made something like 1800 coupes

No depreciation on S2000 either, most sports cars don't depreciate outside of the first 5ish years.
Have you looked at m3/4s and now m2s? I guess they fall within that first 5 year category. But used cars are currently which is really propping up everything ... everyone is employed looking to have some fun
Soviet Car Review Channel is 5/7 will read again. I don't get the Z4 other than the Z4M which balances the overlarge snout with the coupe rear....it is quite pretty. S54 glass motor is sad panda doe.
I don't really get convertibles at all when there is a coupe equivalent but that's just because I am a Chieftain in Clan Funsponge.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

New M3's are so big doe. Also all the tech concerns me as a used buyer.
M2 is what I'd end up. The M2 Comp is legit.
Way out of my price range, but it get's the seal of approval.

I'm a fucking failure.
Brad's era of Z4 was a great car, the N54 had tons of power, and the DCT was excellent.
I've seen a few pop up with the NA 3.0L and but they just don't give me the fizz.

Yep that's a cool ass car right there. If I was to replace the silver phallus, this would be the likely choice.

M3 is lighter than an M2 that's the part that bothers me the most.

True. 60lbs so it's not that much.
Still, surprising.
Fully usable back seat + trunk... and a slightly bigger footprint.
M3 uses CF driveshaft (until 17) and CF roof, probably a few other tidbits that are "too expensive" for the poverty 2 series.
I'm thinking new new, and I thought all the manuals went away in 2019 for the M3.
Size doesn't matter to me, an M-car of any flavor would be a weekend thing. I'll always have the truck, or some flavor thereof for cargo/passengers. I just love small cars, even if they weigh a little more.
