That being said, the Frontier would be a downgrade, both in terms of towing capability and fit and finish.
Still, towing reviews seem to fit with the weight I'd be towing, and something manual and 4WD would be fun.

All things to think about for sure.
I just would rather stretch a bit more on the cost and get something that is much nicer than save a couple bucks and buy the pleb truck and have to look at this crap all the time:

That plastic is terribro.

Also, they are supposed to redesign the truck next year, so I would definitely not buy the last of the turds when the new one is coming.
To this point (it's way more $$$), but I think the Gladiator kills it. He could have his :manuel: 4WD but it's also new, has a really nice interior, comes in cool colors.

The one I linked is about the top amount of what I'd be willing to pay, even that is not ideal.
If I swap vehicles, I'd like to lower my monthly overhead if possible.

Also a good point.
Why I'd never buy one @ full MSRP.

Tow rating with a manual is much lower than the automatic.

But, if I had a gladiator, I'd have to look at it. :nope:

Best case scenario is the Canyon gets fixed.

They called me yesterday and said the transmission guy would be looking at it today.

I love the Wranglers, but after seeing the Gladiators in person it reinforced my opinion that the truck is ugly and out of proportions. Also, it needs to be cheaper. A $60k truck to me better be a full-sized with a diesel that will tow at least 11k pounds. Would buy the Ram 2500 Laramie every day of the week and twice on Sunday over a Gladiator.

Other than the aesthetics, it doesn't meet my needs, so it's crossed off the list.
The price is way too high for me as well.

I'm still toying with the idea of an '06-ish Ram 2500 :manuel:

YES.

I would probably do the newest Ram 2500 that fits into what you want to pay.

[user not found] wrote: Thu Aug 29, 2019 1:17 pm Frontier had better interior packaging with worse plastics. I had far more usable storage space in the Frontier than I did in the Colorado, which I found out when I went to transfer my shit over at point of sale. It's an honest design, drives well, the Pro-4X rides as nice as the ZR2 IMO on the street, and it can be had with a :manuel: with a solid engine.

Mine also towed my :meata: across the very hilly state of PA at 75 MPH without an issue. :iono:

It's an honest truck that's had all the issues worked out - underneath it's a scaled down Titan. So it's overbuilt for Midsize duty. Is Nissan a brand that caters to the subprime? Sure. But so is :doge:

So many people are all wrapped up in status, and really... the Frontier is the best honest truck of the bunch. No fluff, all stuff.
I drove your's, I liked it.
It will suit my needs, should I decide to go that route.

I've been looking they have lease deals ~$350/mo.

I'm going to call the :dillerman: this morning to schedule a time to bring it in, so I'll miss the Labor Day :dill: s
For reference, sticker in my Ram was 52k and leased it for $423 a month with 0 down. Selling price was 39k I think, I'd have to check the paperwork to be sure.

The current generation in the US/Canada was last redesigned in 2004.

Oh yeah, I hear ya.
The design is definitely long in the tooth.

Positive side: Most of the kinks are worked out.
Negative: I'd only look cool in 2007.

I'm obviously :wrong: but in many cases older versions of cars but new would be the best. Way less shit to break, more direct driving experience, better steering, lighter weight... If I could trade my 328i for a brand new 1995 328i... I would do it in a heart beat.

I know [user not found] loved his, but these trucks are pure shit on the inside. My Xterra was a complete pile as far as the interior quality goes. There's a really good reason they are so damned cheap....

Plus, do you want to be seen as someone with a sub-500 credit score that thinks they are flexing with a new truck with a 14% APR loan ? That's the demographic Nissan focuses on and most people know it.
Is that a true strategy by Nissan or is it just rumor?

Well, I've seen it.

When I bought the Xterra in 2011 the dealer tried to pull some shit telling me I had "bad automotive credit" and that my normal FICO was great, but they couldn't get me a good APR due to my poor history of car loans.. :ayfkm:

I was done with that dealership and had a very similar BS encounter with the other local Nissan dealer when I was in for service and inquired about a GTR.

They are bottom feeders. I think the only car they have that they even remotely care what your finances are like is the GTR. Everything else they will jack up an APR and approve people that have no ability to actually pay the loan. Just like the home loan bubble financing to illegals with no jobs.
