Is that a true strategy by Nissan or is it just rumor?
Well, I've seen it.
When I bought the Xterra in 2011 the dealer tried to pull some shit telling me I had "bad automotive credit" and that my normal FICO was great, but they couldn't get me a good APR due to my poor history of car loans..
I was done with that dealership and had a very similar BS encounter with the other local Nissan dealer when I was in for service and inquired about a GTR.
They are bottom feeders. I think the only car they have that they even remotely care what your finances are like is the GTR. Everything else they will jack up an APR and approve people that have no ability to actually pay the loan. Just like the home loan bubble financing to illegals with no jobs.

I'm obviously but in many cases older versions of cars but new would be the best. Way less shit to break, more direct driving experience, better steering, lighter weight... If I could trade my 328i for a brand new 1995 328i... I would do it in a heart beat.
Drive a mini. My 1992 e36 was a death trap. It was old 6 years ago when I had it.... it’s just sort of blah

You would love the E30 then.

Decent likelihood I will be MINIing over the next few months. Once I fix the couple of things needed on the 328i I'm going to list it for sale. I'll await the job sitch leveling out before doing anything.
You built it from the ground up and it’s as new. You can’t possibly compare that to a “normal” e30/e36
Depends on your meaning of "death trap"
Chassis is still the same. I mean, I know if I get in a wreck in it, it's gonna be way worse than a modern car.
But everything else is top notch, brakes, tires, suspension etc.

5+ owners and worn out suspension, Brakes, tires, steering, engine and transmisson. All of which you changed. After 20 years or so without manic maintenance any car is essentially worn to a nub if it’s driven daily

Lol, I see your point.

Buy a Frontier. It is an old vehicle that can be bought brand new. The 370Z fits that bill, too.

SS's are still over 40k used.
Honestly, I'd E39 M5, they're seeming to be around 20-25k, and that's one hell of a V8 under the hood.
When it runs? Bearing problems, VANOS problems, every part it is Mtaxed problems.....respectfully the S62 is really quite a finicky bag of poo. Your $25K BMW could be a $45K BMW in short order.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.

GM has had at least 2-3 different revisions to the Fluid. It's not even a GM fluid anymore since they fucked it up twice. I think it's Mobil now.
Yeah Mobil1
Not sure of the part #

My friend said the Mobil stuff is much better and is actually doing a good job of it gets swapped in soon enough. It was too late for some people early on that had their TC and clutch ruined from the shitty GM fluid.

I'm curious if the fluid they're using is new or something. Like what all of a sudden changed with this tranny to make them take a shit? Is the tranny new? Or is the fluid new? Or are both of them new and they developed the fluid around that shit or something?

It was supposedly Colorado specific fluid and GM fucked it up twice before contacting Mobil 1 to start making it. My friend says he has multiple cases laying around because GM sends more than it take to do the job and it's not used for any other vehicle.
