Pay cash for 5000 square foot house with a swimming pool in Houston, go to work for big oil, start cranking out Russian/Asian crotchfruit, enjoy diversity, buy sportsball season tickets and crew cab Duramax.
POWL: Do you hop in the carpool by yourself?

The general essence was there... Def not Houston but maybe Denver/Austin/Portland/Charlotte/Raleigh. We're also both for some reason quite fond of florida but that is even more than cali.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 12:45 pmYeah I feel like I stuck the landing on those comments.
Also 2500 sq ft tops. We don't need/want a mcmansion. Also I don't truck but I enjoy 's which are almost equally retarded.

I like parts of FL, basically the middle coasts. Inland gets way too hot and the top and bottom are with hillbillies and Guadeloupe.max225 wrote:The general essence was there... It's a strange state. I need to investigate it further.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:16 pmI like parts of FL, basically the middle coasts. It's like cali but flatter, far more criminal in certain areas... In a lot of ways you can "retire" there for a really decent price, as a large portion of the populous is poor, and it keeps the price inflation now. Cali's tech boom has really caused some major inflation that the right coast hasn't seen yet.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:30 pmIt's a strange state. It holds some attraction for me in terms of the inland waterway as boating recreation. On the Pacific side it's pull out of the harbor into big water. Swimming in gator country though. .....no thanks.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:33 pmIt's like cali but flatter, far more criminal in certain areas... Who would swim with the gators ... I dunno there are a lot of "stereotypes" about florida that are simply "not true" and some that are, the gators being everywhere+nasty bugs or whatever, in most 'Normal" places that is not a thing. Just like a lot of stereotypes about japan are not true as well... it is not a "weird" country by most standards, and they are not "short".Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:37 pmIt holds some attraction for me in terms of the inland waterway as boating recreation. We lived in Palm Beach County for 6 years.....we liked it waaaaay more than I expected we would. We were 10 miles inland but I'm sure you could afford to be a lot closer to the H2O.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 1:30 pmIt's a strange state. Climate wise, South florida is very different from points north. It is tropical and in many ways feels like you are on an caribbean island.
I always really enjoyed the gulf coast as well. The towns over there are older and more established and it feels way different from the East.
Fun Fact: Palm Trees are not indigenous to Floriduh, they were imported...... you see nary a one in the interior of the state......

To each their own. I like the change in seasons and the cold weather.

Oh yeah..... the summers are brutal....but you get used to it
And really its:
air conditioned house
to air conditioned car
to air conditioned office
to air condiditoned car
to air conditioned house
Rinse (in the pool) and repeat
And the rest of the year is glorious...... Swimming from Saint Patrick's Day through Thanksgiving.
I must say (as a northern boy) it was weird as hell putting up Christmas Lights in shorts and a tank top.....
