LOL, I was just giving options out, I had no idea what your budget is, but I was expecting any Boxster that wasn't a rat-wagon was going to be $25+

You really hit the nail on the head.
A Porsche that's worth a damn ain't cheap.

I'm hoping I can find a 3.0L Z3 for about 6-8k that would be idea. Relatively cheap, but still decently fun. Not a track blaster, but decent back road blaster with the top down.

Nice thing with the Z3 is you can get a REALLY nice one for $8-10K. Boxster in that range will have lots of miles.

My uncle has a cream puff 3.0 Z3 he's had since like 2007, I think only like 40k miles that he doesn't drive much... I could introduce you too at my wedding :hue: Maybe he's interested in selling on.

Definitely a case of 'arr rook same.'
Just confirms that the M3 has gotten very porky over the years.

Everyone says the M2 is the size (or bigger) than the M3 used to be and the M3 is an M5 and the M5 is a M6/7 series now.

Reality my budget is about $10k max.
I'm open to any convertible that's not a Miata.

DFD:
$38,000 Porsche.

Just want to highlight what has happened here.

The door ding in the fender and the bissell attachment in the rear bumper are the 2 ways I can differentiate the old and new.

I have had 4 gens and 6 bmws if you count the mini, I can’t tell the two apart. You can say top is 3 and bottom is 5 or vice Versa they look way too similar now

To me, the new 3 looks rather different and that 5 pictured above looks exactly like the F30 gen 3.

:aintcare: I will never own another newer BMW unless it’s an M2 or something like that.

They all look the same to me, but I also don’t care enough about these cars to identify the differences.

One such car is the E39-generation BMW M5, a car developed from 1998 to 2003, which is now fetching six-figure price tags for really pristine examples. At the Gooding & Co. Car Auction in Pebble Beach, an absolutely perfect 2002 BMW M5 will fetch between $140,000 and $180,000, up from its original $75,000 msrp.
What cost $75000 in 2002 would cost $106433.01 in 2018

The 2019 BMW M5 has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $103,695, including a destination charge of $995 and a $1,000 gas-guzzler tax.

dang! my theory is debunked time and time again on car prices vs inflation.

I still think they're overall less $$$ than they were pre recession.

Hell, NA Miatas were like $20K in 1990. That's a lot.
