It is a $.70 split here, except on Tuesdays when Exxon and Shell will knock $.20 off. All in all, it amounts to an extra $7.00 - $11.00 per fill-up over regular, or roughly an extra $350 - $600 per year. When I did the math looking at my fuel costs with the Silverado on 87 octane and compared it against my potential fuel costs with a WRX, the increase in fuel economy offset the added cost of premium and still put me out slightly ahead. And this was comparing my average economy to the city rating on the WRX.
I found this article that attempts to briefly explain the reasons given for why premium has become such a premium: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a1534 ... n-regular/

Filled up yesterday after my appointment at the hospital. $2.79 for regular and $3.49 for premium so a $.70 spread.wap wrote: βFri Jun 07, 2019 1:08 pmI've paid as much as fucking NINETY CENTS more for premium earlier this year, though it's dropped to about a $.60 spread. Gonna fill up on the way home from the hospital this evening (last blood test and meeting with pre-surgical nurses) and we'll see what the difference is today.
GasBuddy is what you need.Detroit wrote: βFri Jun 07, 2019 1:06 pmYea, probably. I should look into this.troyguitar wrote: βFri Jun 07, 2019 1:01 pm I think that in a populated area like yours you can see premium prices via some kind of phone app. We don't have enough stations here for there to be any real options.

For some weird reason George Harrison loved the Uke.troyguitar wrote: βSun Jun 09, 2019 9:56 amD Griff wrote:

I vote Hoosier A7.
More likely options: Firestone Indy 500, General G-Max RS, Continental ExtremeContact Sport.

04 VW R32 sitting on 18x9 wheels and racing slicks at the moment. Needs street tires instead.

If you want to go full then the sumibromo HTR ZIII is a decent tire but it wears quickly. I'd probably go with the Indy 500 on that car.

And a Troy suggestion is solid in my book.

Michelin PS4S is the best, check price on that too and decide how much you care about having the best. In some sizes the difference is minimal.
Is this a car you own now?Barnes93cb wrote: βTue Jun 11, 2019 10:56 amThe Miata. loltroyguitar wrote: βTue Jun 11, 2019 10:55 am car is that for?

Iβd be curious to hear impressions on the Indy 500, seems really good for the price. Will these see track at all or what are the driving conditions?

Same. It bucks the trend of all these stupid utility destroying sloping roof-line "coupe" UVs. The box shape is actually refreshing.max225 wrote: βTue Jun 11, 2019 1:05 pmI think itβs a carMexicanYarisTK wrote: βTue Jun 11, 2019 12:58 pm And just what we needed
