I'm running on the original shocks until I replace the car, unless, as you said, they start to leak, which they haven't yet.

The diller could have easily inspected/texted the shock while looking at springs with car in air.
If leaking, find a low mile take off and replace it all for CHEAP.

You're giving the
too much credit. If this car is
serviced the rusted spring should have been found and identified WAY before it fucking broke. That is straight up neglect... man. It takes YEARS to get to that point.
