She sold us her 13 Kia Optima for a song...... and the song was, I Got Those Seized Engine Blueswap wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 8:20 pmPics.Irish wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2019 5:50 pm
During machining of the engine crankshaft and crankpins, metal shavings may have been left within the crankshaft oil passages, and the crankpins themselves may be too rough on the edges. As a result, oil may be blocked and cause the connecting rod bearings to wear, which would then cause them to fail and seize the whole engine.

The also did "product improvement campaign" = RECALL work a few weeks ago Knock Sensor, Fuel Rail, and Airbag sensor

when the whole engine failure thing hit they extended the engine warranty to 120k.....
The fact that our car ran for 160k they still honored the recall is but I think it was at least partially due to the fact that the previous owner (my wifes hot little friend) had all scheduled maintenance done at this particular dealership.....still, they had 40000 reasons to deny and didn't, so

Over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal reported that French automaker Peugeot could be coming back to the United States sooner than had originally been announced. Carlos Tavares, who is CEO of the Peugeot mothership, Groupe PSA, had previously said Peugeot would be re-entering the U.S. by 2026, but he now says the brand will be back within three to four years, by 2023.

Random daydreaming thought of the day:
What's the best sounding (from the inside, not the outside) reasonably DD-able car under, say, $50k?
The V10 BMW M5/M6 seems hard to beat, short of going to a motorcycle. Maybe a V8 vantage or GT350?

Honestly, I think the C7 with NPP exhaust is really hard to beat.troyguitar wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 2:29 pm Random daydreaming thought of the day:

The 911 interior exhaust sound, or lack of it is very weak in comparison. My Z51 and Z06 sounded amazing both inside and outside the car in sport or track modes with the valves open.

I really only love some aftermarket setups on the based V8s, something with an X-pipe and mufflers not inspired by the 1960s NHRA scene. Dat Corsa Really Spicy Chili + destroked LS3 w/ 4.8 crank could be pretty great without going full exotic.

I think my m3 sounds really good actually, with the competition package. There really isn’t anything that sounds like it either as it one of the few remaining i6s. You get everything, turbo noise, blow off noise, braps etc. on 18s it would be a decent DD. It’s way too stiff on 20stroyguitar wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 2:29 pm Random daydreaming thought of the day:
