The prelude is great. I really loved mine but it was also the "dreaded" 4 speed automatic that would grenade by 70k miles :(. This one has only 66k miles on it tho, mine had 153k but it felt NEW. It was the highest mileage nicest car I have ever had. Sold it for 7k about 10 years ago now.
The MkII is actually imported from the Fatherland...
While this one looks clean underneath. I would have to caution against German cars. They tend to have a lot of rust due to salt usage etc.

Italian and Spanish cars have 0 :doe:

The back story on this 129 mile specimen is cray cray :derp:

Ok this is the story behind this car .

I myself don’t know to much about Corvettes so bear with me if I’m a little slow on the answers.

My friend (D ) was arrested and taken in to county jail he call me and begged me to bail him out I said I would but would need some kink of collateral.
His girlfriend ( L ) offered this car as collateral, but had no paperwork no plates no registration . Her story was that it was her late fathers car and had been stored under cover in his garage for 30 years .
I visited ( D ) in jail and asked about the car and he confirmed that it was legit . I ran the vin but nothing came back it’s like this car never existed . I felt for my friend being locked up and agreed to bail him out .
After he got out the was delivered to me on a flatbed tow truck, I knew it wouldn’t run and also knew it was going to take more money to get it to a point where I could sell it . Looking back at this now I would have said no to my now ex friend but that’s another story.

I went into the DMV to register it and find out how to get ownership papers on it . They said the car was dropped from there system as it was registered only one time and never renewed .
They took my money and sales tax and issued a temporary registration and said I would have to get the original owner to sign off on it . Well that wasn’t going to happen .

By this time ( L ) was in county jail on a old warrant. I had to get someone that was a notary to go into the jail and have ( L ) sign a bill off sale.
So to cut to the chase two years later with numerous letters back and forth to the DMV , inspections and a pile of paperwork I finally got the ownership papers, I cleaned out the gas tank replaced the fuel pump and filter had aaa come out a d make a key took it to a mechanic and had the injectors cleaned three times as they were so blocked up , had some used tires installed and it was running at this point it had 105 miles on it .

I had to take it for a little spin and it ran great nothing like my present car but all in all felt strong the engine needed to be broken in but I didn’t want to put a few hundred miles on it .
While the mechanic had it the oil a d filter was replaced and the car in general was sound .

Now the story goes like this the father of ( L ) who had passed away brought the car as a prize to be given away at an illegal casino he was running out of his house something happened that night at the casino ( his house ) he was involved in what I was told was a mu_ _ _ er he left the house and the car and all his belongings and never returned to claim anything .

29 years later he passed and ( L’s ) sister had something to do with his strange and untimely demise. Forged his signature on a few documents and claimed all his business , land ,cash and house . I already had position of the car so she didn’t get that .

Hope this was of interest

Sweet dreams

Daddy Doug seemed to really enjoy it too, and he only drives it on suburban roads.

Yes. Selling her on a Hype R or C6GS or other $40K "nice" car would be far easier.

Daddy Doug is certainly starting to draw a bat crowd. That thing is mint !

I still don’t understand why these websites are taking off even though they charge insane 5-6% fees to the buyer

I think the "social media" aspect of these sites are a big draw..... the commenters that act as shills by bidding cars up but never buying :triggered: me though....
