My 92 K1500 had the 350 V8 and had 190hp and like 250 tq. It was fine.
This V6 would be fine too.
I might go look at it this weekend. This with a topper would be perfect. More desirable to me than a van because I’d want to drive this and keep it afterwards.
I support this. Durable AF, easy to service, and easy to sleep on an 8 foot bed NBD.
But don't kid yourself that you'll keep it. Reg cab is terrible for impending crotchfruit.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.
$2500 more gets you a 13 year newer vehicle with 16k fewer miles, V8, better fuel economy, cruise control, and power windows/locks.
I think that GMT400 only makes sense if they'll let it go for $9k. Because you try and resell it you'll get absolutely fucked on trade value at about $3k, or hell even private party, you'd be lucky to get $8k. On a $12,500 truck? Just get a new one if you're going to light $5-10k on fire...

Whenever dealers get pristine old vehicles like that, they price them into the stratosphere. Drives traffic to the dealer if nothing else, and they probably got it for next to nothing. You would be lighting money on fire buying that GMT400.
This newer truck is better in every way. Should hold its value slightly better too.
Seriously, if you're considering something like this, you should look at a .gov surplus auction. I know a dude that bought a GMT800 reg cab long box like this from a fed surplus auction and the truck was incredible. He paid a few grand for it too.

The gmt900 is a huge upgrade in ride quality even over my late model 800

Can we talk about the 4 doing a face off with the wall
I was hoping that would get noticed. Such paradise.
I don't get it? It's not touching the wall. I always park as close as I can to the wall to reduce the chance that s will clip the end hanging out.

Hm. build, but 1 year left of warranty and I'm sure it'll still depreciate like a rock, all while being totally as far as maintenance and repairs 12 months from now.

BMW offers extended warranties of varying length, coverage, and corresponding expense. Investigate one of those and negotiate the price a bit?
You're still on the depreciation roller coaster but Owner 1 ate a lot of it. 40K miles and an extended warranty would get you 90% of the new car feelz for a steep discount. I have experienced F30 B58 new car feelz and they are not worth it, to say the least.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.
