Overall in the pyramid scheme of our current lives, I think this is the FIRST time in my adult life where most cars purchased from 2016-2019 are in fact "INVESTMENTS" as opposed to normally where they are endlessly depreciating money pits.

Absolutely. It's just a blip which is why we offed the JL to take advantage of what's likely a once in a lifetime event.

Where would you get parts for a Lancia? The only one of us who could own this thing is the Hound, he could fabricate new parts from scratch.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 2:54 pmAren't these horribly unreliable?CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 2:00 pm https://carsandbids.com/auctions/rNNJJE ... t-w8-wagon

I've seen one or two on the streets in Europe (forget which cities/countries) and they're indeed badass in person. Lancia styling has always been pretty

The Lancia is badass but never something I'd actually own for that reason.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 3:14 pmWhere would you get parts for a Lancia? The only one of us who could own this thing is the Hound, he could fabricate new parts from scratch.
The question was targeted toward the W8 Passat. I've always wanted one.

Italy ? eBay ? There Are ways. When you’re paying 70-150k for a random ass toy car you don’t mind overnighting an oxygen sensor for $600 from MilanDesertbreh wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 3:14 pmWhere would you get parts for a Lancia? Have your buddy in Europe pick them up and fly them back on the C-130. Easy way for euro shipping, it just needs to fit in the crew door.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 3:14 pmWhere would you get parts for a Lancia? They used to keep an open pallet spot for cool shit to be flown back but budget cuts mean all planes are flown full of .gov stuff.

Yea I think I posted these up in the past. These were incredibly hated when they came out IMO for no good reason. Same goes for solstice coupes and convertiblesIrish wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 3:57 pm Man, I always wanted one of these ....

I don't love the interior. I am a solid 7 on Crossbow styling. I'm sure it drives nicemax225 wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 5:11 pmYea I think I posted these up in the past. This is an interesting car to "restore" and will likely be somewhat of a classic.

That is about as nice an example as you'll find of one of those without some $35K BaTmax225 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 7:41 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/ ... 17330.html

I like it, but it would really need a B18C swap to be something I'd want to drive a lot.

I dunno, this looks nice, would get great MPG and be decently fun to tool around in while being very reliable. Like max said, it would be fun to restore and drive for a while and you probably wouldn't lose a thing on it.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 12:19 pmThat is about as nice an example as you'll find of one of those without some $35K BaTmax225 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 7:41 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/ ... 17330.html

There are a few of the hotter engines for not much else. Almost anyone can swap a Honda motor of this gen, for not much money. And things usually bolt right up Lego style. It would make for a great little project imo. And that’s an affordable hobby as opposed to dealing with Porsche or Audi pricing etc.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 12:19 pmThat is about as nice an example as you'll find of one of those without some $35K BaTmax225 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 7:41 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/ ... 17330.html

Throwing in a VTEC b-series and LSD trans would be pretty easy and probably run sub $5K.

My friend just bought a GSR and I believe is moving back to San Jose soon. I think a clean RSX-S would be phenomenal to buy and just keep nice. I loved driving my friend's when he had one.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 7:41 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/ ... 17330.html

Right? That car is a ragged out mess as well.
Leaking trans, ripped seats, faded paint. And that's just the obvious...
I can't imagine how that thing drives... It must be an absolute shitbox. But obviously looks great for the gram.
