This is an epic "overlander" IMO.

It really is. This seems like a great buy. These were somewhat unique in size as tweeners between mid and full size.
Yea the main issue will still be MPG on these... 4 speed auto + V8 + 5000lbs... that is not going crack 20 on the freeway. However.... a 4 figure purchase price, cheap AF parts, and likely the best reliability in the world, seems to cross all boxes. Yea it doesn't have "lockers" but IMO they are not necessary for overlanding.

If I was on a budget that's the route I'd go.

No AC (not optioned), and it’s the 2WD, AND it’s overpriced... but still a rare thing to show up on craigslist nearby :notbad:
Gee whiz, $6K?! What is this world coming to?

I do agree that it's kinda :neat: , but seems like a $2K car to me.
They were ten years ago, back when I didn't have a spare $2k for one :bs:

Oh look it’s a not-CHEESE. Cape Canaveral, FL.

Looks like a decently optioned GT, low miles

Problem is that’s its AUTO :nope: and price needs to go down a bit. I paid less for CHEESE and got way more.

Still a rare car :doe: 1/318

It’s...meh. Ruins the whole experience to someone like me. I mean it’s a 6spd with paddles sure but it aint the same. If you’re gonna buy a miata and enjoy it find a manual. I guess if you just wanna cruise with it the auto is great...

No idea, to be honest. Fortunately auto to manual swaps are very doable.

That's just a Japanese GMT800 Tahoe. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm mixed. On my truck I really like the contrast of black and whorange. I also like how the black hides pinstriping well...the coating is more durable than paint.

But then I see trucks like this and man... :jimp:

these things just look fantastic in whorange. I still give people hell at work for the color going away.

I could be mistaken but I think that’s a 62-63k msrp build. Metal bumpers and color matched roof usually means every single box was checked.

Yours does look amazing as well. Most JTs I see here are Sports and they somehow don’t look right.

Even JL Sports sometimes look funny to me, the tires on a :jeep: need a bit of nobby.

Ugly ass wheels
Smaller minivan tires
Hideous fenders
Uglier bumpers
Halogens

All add up to a weird look. These “options” really make em look so much better but I listed 10k in options right there 😭

JTs are long AF and need larger tires to look proportionate. Rubicon 33s are the minimum, 35s look just right IMO.

2005-2007 ones get the 5-speed auto FYI.
Yup along with a decent power bump as well. But they are harder to find as the sales started to tank around 05 so there are more than 2x as many 01/04 models

Even just having some knobs on the tires help the looks.

But yeah, the Sports and Overland trims look odd with the :225: tires.
These don’t seem bad at all. Personally don’t like overly knobby tires on the street.
