It would warrant a good 30 minutes of fucking with at the dealership to determine if I could live with it.
5 minutes with a Lexus and I knew the fucking mouse thing was a no go, lol.

I mean this should be $10k. But for reasons it's 17. If enough boomers are left after the plague comes through maybe the resale on these will stay propped up. But I bet many cars like this will see serious drops in resale value as boomers decide they need to protect their investments instead of purchase frivolous toys that cost too much for what they are. Harley has got to be freaking out right now.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 2:28 pmIt'll run to the Moon and back with minimal issues on 87 zfg.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 1:24 pm
I mean it's competitively priced against other G8s. I agree the "value" isn't there, but we're talking a purchase price that is less than the amount of depreciation an M3 will see in 2 years.
I think the transmission is the 6L80 which was the same used in the Corvette of similar vintage. So it would seem everything is under-stressed. Overbuilt. Should be pretty durable. I think the thing even runs on 87 octane.
I do agree that they're surprisingly resistant to depreciation. The value is tough.
I bet my car took a royal shit on resale value over the last month.

Seems to be just supply and demand to me. What other RWD V8 sedans are out there? The Charger, and...that's it. The G8s sold for 2 years when gas prices were insane, so few were sold, then they disappeared. I'd still kick around the idea of buying one if I find a clean one somewhere in a decent radius from here.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 3:21 pm I mean this should be $10k. G8 is yuuge compared to the IS. The LS430/460 are probably more comparable to the G8 GT. It's a big car.D Griff wrote:IS-F would be legit.
I don't even think boomers are propping G8 values, I think it's... people like us.

Mostly just V8 noises and a car that will almost certainly be simpler to own. Think of it like a pickup truck in sedan form haha.
There’s a lot that sucks on the G8 though like that steering wheel, the Big Mac sized seats, and the awful radio interface that can’t be changed.

Pretty good, yeah. It's a big car inside and out.max225 wrote:Yep, does it have a good use of space inside ?
335 will continue to depreciate to nothing, these clearly don't. Also, they are likely more reliable.
All of that said, I have no interest in one, CTS-Vs are similar money to GTP and seem like a more interesting vehicle.
