they just bought Supra VIN 20201 for a cool $2.1 million. That might seem like an excessive premium on a car that will have a base MSRP of $50,920, but beyond the cool factor of owning the first example, the entire bid will benefit the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The Supra has also been signed by Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda—a neat extra.
2020 Supra-Why I think it is half assed.

Imo they are some of the most underrated sports cars ever made. Everyone is lusting for pos air cooled Porsche’s for 80k while this thing Will run circles around them for 20k or so used and never ask for anything but oil.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:16 amI'd really love to drive a Nismo 370. They are developing a shit stigma though....
Some really great people have gotten these lately thanks to the cheap price of entry ...

They seem expensive for what they are, IMO. Easily $10k+ more than a non-Nismo for some Recaros and a different front bumper. They're sweet, doe.

The supra numbers make these look MORE attractive.

I really like the look of them. I don’t mind the hood that much. They’ve really grown on me. I bet they’re a pleasure to drive, too.Tarspin wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 12:16 pm#metoo[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:16 am

Something that I discovered on LinkedIn today, and Austrian-Canadian automotive mogul Frank Stronach is contracted to build the Z4/Supra. He has always wanted to build a car from scratch so this is a nice start. There is big talk of Stronach taking over the GM Oshawa plant and building a contract car from scratch. Five to 10% of every car built has Magna parts in it. The only reason he hasn't built whole cars in the past is politics, the big three threatened Stronach with a boycott of his subassemblies if he ever decided to build his own car. As a Canadian, and automotive contractor, I am enamored by Stronach's achievements and support his efforts to save the Canadian GM plant.

I got a ride in one at work, before his wife went insane and flipped out on my department and then quit, and it felt a lot like a 996 to me, just with a reliable motor up front. In terms of grip, speed, etc.

"According to the BMW ETK catalog, the US variant of the Supra will be equipped with the B58B30C engine. It carries part number 11002463592, and seems very similar to the engine for the US-spec Z4 M40i. However, the Z4 engine is actually the B38B30B, and has part number 11002464415. What does that mean? There are internal differences. "
I think I spotted the difference. One is the 3 cyl, one is the 6 cyl.
reporting.
