It's certainly possible. Weren't sleazy dealers asking close to $100k on early GT 350's?
Toyota hasn't had a legitimate performance car in what? 2 decades? These will have no idea what to do, just like Honda and the Hype R. Can't wait for the first video of them beating the shit out of the car fresh off the truck.
I have no idea why people are so hellbent on buying the first car or whatever. Between brand new car issues, games, markup, and high likelihood of being beaten on, there's zero reason to really want one of the first.
2020 Supra-Why I think it is half assed.

My big takeaway from Demuro was the huge divide in reliability between Toyota designs and that of BMW. Putting aside them not living up to the legacy and all that, it seems to me to be a cheaper route to get into a BMW sportscar with cool throwback badging. Yes, some power is lost, but not $15000 worth.

Z4 is a hard top convertible, different type of vehicle
What is this mythical m2 CS you speak of? The Competition package is the only thing out with actual pricing And the base base is likely a special order only PRICE AS TESTEDmax225 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 10:28 amThere is no 15,000 delta a comparably equipped 240i is 4K cheaper, a better and faster m2 cs is 5-7 k more.Irish wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 1:24 am My big takeaway from Demuro was the huge divide in reliability between Toyota designs and that of BMW. $64,545 (base price: $59,895).
A CS/CSL model is a few months away and will likely be extremely expensive in 2020/21.

nah, you good. Was just getting really confusing because the CS is a real thing in pipeline. And it will be very expensive as a limited edition to retire the chassis.max225 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 10:55 amI thought cs stands for competition ? Mah bad.dubshow wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 10:54 am

Glad we confirmed just what you are talking about.
All supras will be equipped very similiarly other than sound systems. Thats what the jalop review said. There is very little difference in trims. We are talking base budgets man. If you want to save $10k you can. It will still be a very well equipped car.
They wont even make you maintain the monthly idrive subscription.

M240i starts at 45,500 4500 less than Supra
M240i with most options is 49,500-50,100
Supra starts at 49,500
Supra with most options 54,500
M2 comp starts st 59,500
M2 comp with most options 64,400
Z4 convertible is 63,xxx but it is a completely different type of vehicle as it is a hard top convertible
Supra has the engine/trans from the inferior in every way(to m2) 240i. So I don’t agree that it is anything “budget” if anything the 240i is cheaper which directly competes with it and offers free maintenance.
I’d also love to know how Toyota will service a vehicle built in Austria 100-% German parts.
In the savage geese livestream he talked about how Toyota is going to service the cars. IIRC they said they're going to build an inventory of parts. Who knows doe.max225 wrote:Ok just to be 100% clear.dubshow wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 10:59 am All supras will be equipped very similiarly other than sound systems. Thats what the jalop review said. So you're going to need to have Toyota certified techs that are "Supra" qualified, which basically means you're BMW certified.
They're going to need new tools to even work on these. E-torx, and torque wrenches that utilize Newton Meters instead of inch and foot lbs.
Let's ask Toyota how having technicians work on Subaru engines is going for them.
But I do like the Supra overall. Shame it doesn't come with

But on this car that's supposed purpose is driver focus, it seems like a pretty glaring omission. There's a Z4 in Europe, so it shouldn't be a big deal, and I bet the take rate would be rather decent.
THOUGH, how many people would buy one because it had the that have currently written it off because of it? Probably few. If you're going to buy one, you're going to buy one regardless of the transmission. There's just fewer and fewer options out there anymore.

Exactly. You'll probably have to end up taking your Supra to a BMW diller.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 11:55 amThe service thing doesn't make any sense.

His review video isn't out yet but I like his stuff. Better than most other youtubers and goes more in depth with stuff.
