In 6 months when the car is still sitting on their lots marked up to $80k, dealers will turn around to Toyota and complain that nobody is buying them.

Dealers certainly like to play the whole laissez faire card when it comes to "market adjustments" in their favor, but when the tides turn, their attitude quickly changes.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 12:27 pm https://jalopnik.com/here-come-the-big- ... 1836375458

Yeah I mean... the Supra was really growing on me. I still love the looks but since the C8 also looks dope, really the interior is the only saving grace for the Supra.
C8 is just as practical, looks just as good/more exotic, actually reliable, more power/way faster... all for about the same price.

Indeed. I imagine Toyota is going to be reworking the numbers on this one.

the c8 pricing is and at the same time. I'll wait to see it on window stickers and hope it wasnt just a PR stunt to get people hyped.
They know they have to sell a lot of this new gen to make up for the RD cost and retool.
they coming out swinging.
meanwhile ford went the fully opposite way in ultra limited release of the GT. The GT, I'm sure will be more "supercar" than the c8 but hell, I bet a c8 will do just fine in a track situation when prepped for less than 25% of GT cost.

I am 50/50 on whether or not this is real... they can't afford not to sell it in volumes... Other than moving the engine there isn't anything super expensive in this vehicle.. engineering will have to be offset by volume. The "parts" cost is probably not much higher than the c7

Just load the parts departments up with New Balances sporting Corvette flags.
