Yeah I'm the one who's fucked up for wondering if a car can fit a large backpack in the trunk... Because why, exactly? What is wrong with basing purchasing decisions for a vehicle on my actual uses of a vehicle? A miata is NOT a racecar. It's a cheap, soft, slow street car with tons of ground clearance and creature comforts made to be able to be used daily.
Further, a car being useful or not for me has nothing to do with whether it's a good car. When did I ever imply otherwise?
I'm sick of your shit. Quit being yourself.

NC makes total sense. It is pretty much disposable at 7-9k. And it gets you 90% of the performance of the new one at 25% of the price. Can't really go wrong here.

Fellow cocksucker I was pointing out to you that whether or not "Hockey shit" will fit into a Miata is god damn ridic, because it is obvious that it won't with a teeny car as such. That is all, not everything is so god damn personal man.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Jul 20, 2018 7:06 pmYeah I'm the one who's fucked up for wondering if a car can fit a large backpack in the trunk... It's a legit concern for sure. Trunk space looked like a roll on bag plus maybe a small duffel and that's it. Enough for a weekend for 2 people but that's about it I think. NC has more space than the ND.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Jul 20, 2018 7:06 pmYeah I'm the one who's fucked up for wondering if a car can fit a large backpack in the trunk... Because why, exactly? Yeah and at that price I wouldn't feel bad throwing a supercharger on it with the possibility of eventually grenading the motor. 250 WHP would be an absolute riot in that.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 20, 2018 7:09 pm NC makes total sense. Which is why I don't think it's necessarily impossible to deal with an ND, but it'd be close. I've been around them but never actually looked in the trunks or driven one yet. I doubt my current bag would fit as-is - it would likely require switching to 2 smaller bags. It's around 22x22x15 at its biggest points, simply a large backpack.[user not found] wrote:For Tennessee, I fit the following in my trunk:

168 @ the wheels.
That's only a 7% loss at the rated 181 HP.
This thing's really making closer to 200 HP at the crank if the loss factor is 15-20% like most RWD cars.

So it looks like the same car until 5000rpm, then the ND2 just pulls away. Wouldn't make much of a difference in a daily but a huge difference on a track or while hooning as expected.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 2:55 pmND2 vs ND1:[user not found] wrote:https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/news/ ... -nd2-dyno/

looking at that graph i'm not sure i could justify the extra cost on nd2 on the ~5 year time scale.

New vs used and with no regard for competition or reliability, sure. In 2 years when an ND2 is only $3k more instead of $10k more it'll be different. I wouldn't buy an ND1 at all due to transmissions blowing up - and wouldn't buy an ND2 unless it's proven that the new ones are solid.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 3:03 pm

Crazy! Wonder where else they shaved off some weight... It's funny because they used a metal intake manifold for "looks" yet skimmed on the trans case for reliability.[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 4:53 pmIt's the situation where the trans blows. It's typically 2nd gear in tight corners under load.
Mazda approached the ND development with a gram strategy to cut weight wherever possible, and the trans casing is one area where they focused on weight loss. Some have speculated that the loss of structural material on the trans has made it susceptible to flexing under load.
