Anything over 3000lbs should have at least 2 liters of displacement. What is this communist Europe?

The transmission felt more software than hardware. The later production truck I've been driving this week definitely shifts like it should.
Been 5 days is everything fixed? Or still having issues?

Transmission feels great, actually. Drove it to Philly and back to pick up a load of furniture at IKEA with Fledonfoot, and it seems to be behaving as it should.

Take the kid seat with you. It's not that tight of a back seat - how tall are you?
6 feet. Door opening and the lean to get the kid in is the main hassle.

I'm being a pussy to be honest. Smart thing is to wait 18 months for her to forward face. OTOH we aren't poor and it would improve my quality of life

Ok, you and I are the same size, essentially.

Here's my back seat with the driver seat in my natural position.

Looks really tight. Tighter than my 6 and I have to drive like a granny. I need to eyeball it in person.

Car seat had to be at least 2 inches of the child seat.

Fuck.

What's your inseam? My legs are a bit longer than most people my height, so I'm a little further back.

But yeah, just go check one out in person. :iono:
30 or 32.

You'd be fucking shocked how big a car seat is. Especially rear facing

Other thought at the moment is to buy the new RAV4 when it comes out for the wife and I drive the minivan until the youngest turns 6. Then I buy a M340. Fucking all over the place rn.

Apparently they are going to start making the Rav in Georgetown. Can get an employee discount potentially on a Toyota too.

Go test drive some stuff and bring the baby seat. Or get a babysitter, and bring the baby seat to a place like Carmax, you can just roam the lot with it in hand, all the cars are unlocked and they'll have almost every late model family hauler. Zero stress way to see if something is big enough or usable enough.

In two hours at a Carmax we knocked Lisa's potential car list down by 75%.

Also maybe check out a QX60? CPO should be close in price to the new Rav.

I did that before I bought the current car. I measured the distance between the seat back of the front seat and the back seat upper part after I removed the car seat. Then went to carmax with a tape measure. To be fair, seating position isn't as much as a concern as door opening and height.

Also I'm worried that after the kids are old enough to both crawl in and out of their seats that I will go back to wanting a sports sedan. Which if I buy a truck now probably won't happen.

Responsible thing to do is "tough" it out in this very nice car for the next 3 years...I think I may switch DD duties with the wife and drive the van since I pick up and drop off the kids 7 out of 10 times a week.

Rear facing in a Colorado is impossible. Wifey is 5’6” and she can still move the front seat up another inch or two. Also in the pic is a McLaren Triumph umbrella stroller, diaper backpack, along with my truk bag and small air compressor. RuffWear Dirtbag seat cover.

:notbad:

I could put the rear facing seat behind the passenger and front facing behind me and buy a little room

I'll head to the dealer this Sunday if they are open. CarMax has a blue Z71 I can transfer here for free to try out.

IMO, the door openings are plenty big for :baby: Worth looking at with your particular seat if you're interested.

This one in particular is on the smaller side as far as car seats go. They're just bulky things, to protect the tiny crumb gobblers they contain.

Wife is 5’ 3” and he just started in the rear facing convertible seat. Lifting him in and out is a little tight for headspace but perfectly doable. She actually gained some space to move the seat back now because of the new car seat. Will still be better once he’s forward facing though.

Falken WildPeak MT review from a friend I met up with last night. They are abysmal in the wet and snow. My friend was coming down a hill in the wet and his :truk: went sideways. If there was anyone coming up the hill it would have been bad.

Definitely crossing these off the list as a potential tar for the future. WildPeak AT's FTW.
