Rivian still hasn't answered how it's going to manage charging. That :fancy: stove thing will suck the truck's battery down at an alarming rate. If you're truly "overlanding" in the middle of nowhere, you run a real risk of being stranded with a dead battery and nowhere to fill up.

The company likely knows this and also knows that nobody does real "overlanding", rather poses for instagram photos at the nearest county park for maximum :millennial:

Dudebro on vortex made his :turboyaris: into a mudcamping rig with tiguan springs and taller tires.

Covered the plywood with subwoofer enclosure padding, bolted down the frame with automotive 10.9 grade bolts, made the front part foldable by adding a hinge and also added some cabinet locks on the foldable part so it doesn't rattle when its closed. My favorite part is the misquote net so I can have the windows opened if its warm, net is held in by velcro straps on inside of door.

This came across my radar the other day. Looks :neat: but has a few issues.
I don't really get it. If someone put this effort into a JK, the price would have been more than triple. Why bother with an XTerra?

Sweet! We have a glamping trip planned around the end of the month, otherwise I'm open too as of now.

It is, but if I had one with a blown engine, I'd just go the :scrooge: route and put a junkyard replacement in place. I love :ellis: but in this case, it's just too much :butwhy: for me.

Someone probably had :ellis: laying around being lazy and figured he could put him to work.

Original motor probably blew due to failed timing chain guides, or SMOD.
An :ellis: swap is a ton of :troywax: and work, even if the engine is "free". And the end result still likely has a lot of bugs and compromises.

I know very little about Nissan engines (also don't really care), but it seems like a junkyard engine should be easy to obtain and relatively affordable.
