Is think any major metro area is in the double digits. Just simple economics, those in Bumfuck nowhere can rent a double wide for $300 a month that doesn’t get you anything here outside of a night in a holiday inn
Nobody gives a shit about cost of living when you're talking minimum wage jobs, get a bicycle or a bus pass and deal with the 2 hour commute from povertyland to work.
Well it is the #1 expense whether you’re rich or poor. It matters. At minimum wage driving is likely a luxury you shouldn’t be able to “afford”

$7.25 in Philly means you're living a good 2 hours from work and don't own a car and utilize the bus / public transit to get to work. Or if you're living with 10 other people in the house maybe you're in some dump in far south philly and riding your bike in every day.

Right, which will jack the cost of that burger to over $20, at which point I ain't going there, so the bar makes less money and closes and :manuel: is out of work but hey at least he got paid $15/hr when he had a job so we win right?
Burger will go to like $12 to pay for the new kiosks that will replace :manuel: taking your order and flippin' dem bunz.
True story I was at a MacDoe once and this poor worker was so enthusiastic about these order kiosks and she was like “do you want to try our new ordering experience?” And then some guy was like “you know these are here to replace you, right?”

Her face went into like a deep  it was quite :eeyore: but  to see

I can't wait for the automated hamburger machines. Really Macdoe could just become a room with a hamburger vending machine. Get Roombas to clean up after everyone, and you'd only need :manuel: to empty the trash cans and clean up poop in the ball pit.

2 hr commute at minimum wage is impossible. Not enough time in the day to make ends meet. And commute expenses way too high.

It is about time, if you spend 4 hrs a day on a bus it would be the time you spend greeting people at your local walmart.

No shit. Yet this is what people do. Commute from Frankford to center city to sweep floors and clean toilets in the Comcast building for $7.25.

Well that's why they are poor, if you can't make simple choices as such minimum wage it is.

Honestly doe, :manuel: who is fearing for his life giving 50% of his pay to the cartels just so he can stay alive has more to lose than Aryan Hansel who shows up to work after visiting the Theresienwiese for some oktoberfest fun drunk and won't get fired because socialist country, and I wouldn't be surprised if :manuel: actually built the better vehicle.
