Those with MY2017-onward of any version of the egg should check their front door creases (where the door goes inward when it’s opened). Apparently VW decided to put a piece of plastic trim that can fall out of place and rub up against the door as it’s opened and closed.
Let the commence. Mine is affected, and apparently there’s a whole thread dedicated to this.

I doubt TK has the same problem since the part has only been present in 2017 and newer mode years.

Yeah thats just about my old commute. But still my monthly mileage have only been decreased slightly because im used to driving so much, therefore I take some unnecessary drives that i couldn’t help it. that said, after some shit happened to it that is detrimental for its resale value. Might as well keep it “forever” (drive into 6 figure mileage) and grab my next car after a year i paid it off, so i can atleast have a car i can trust driving on roadtrips and not giving me any inconvenience on long ventures, which what i love this car for. But really happy with the mk7 that if i trade it in to a 5oh, camaro, used 335i/340i fake sport, 10th gen si, wrx, jakob spec wrangler, etc. I may be
If i get an rwd car, i could probably continue use the mk7 as a nfg/winter “beater”, practical car/daily, by the time i get my next car. But still a better love story than twilight.
Edit: i’ll probably keep driving it till 160k if it hadn’t gave me any issues for its 3rd dsg service. Who knows

I don’t know why vw would add an additional or different placement on plastic component for just the facelift models of the car. Bigger engine components that needed more room to accommodate than pre-facelift? More safety bs? Just like the base of the rearview too!
Dafuq am i saying, oem engineering sucks ass!! APR should make a revision for it

Mine is okay from a quick inspection of the seam. Are the loose panels being found on the ? It's being assembled in a totally different plant then the GTI. Makes cents that it uses the same parts though.
Good point. It's probably only in the mexican cars.
I don't remember seeing any plastic in my door seams when washing the car.

AFAIK it’s now 2018+ so it seems a thing on the facelift models.

Mine doesn’t have that issue either. It maybe cost cutting?

If it’s a part on newer cars then it’s not cost cutting because it didn’t exist before.MexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Fri Dec 28, 2018 12:06 pmMine doesn’t have that issue either. It maybe cost cutting?
