Replaced the cabin filter yesterday as the AC was stinking the first few minutes it was on. Clips on the filter cover were such and pain in the ass. You practically need 3 hands to unclip it and remove the filter.
It was a Mann filter in there already but I'm not sure if it was a FreciousPlus or not. It had a yellow side just like the replacement. The original filter was also a little bit thicker than this replacement.

in4 30 minute shirtless vlog review. Changing that was so easy on the MK6. Literally 5 minutes of work.

I mean it's easy, but theres 6 plastic clips holding it in on the Mk7. 3 on the bottom, 3 on top and they're pretty stiff.
Mk6 was so easy. Just slide the cover to the side and it pops out.
Took a day trip to Baltimore to catch up with a friend from high school and averaged 40mpg on decently buay highways and downtown Baltimore stop&go

I remember my VW dealer wanted like 89 bucks to change the on cabin on my mk6.
I at them and out on that 40k mile service. I just had them do the DSG and they discounted the oil service to like $40. Said I'll gladly do filter at home, just didnt have the time for DSG.

I will NEVER see 40 mpg. thats crazy! Hell, the mk6 DSG can BARELY click 30mpg.
The R is a bit thirstier. It also hasnt had many interstate trips. Will report back after this week.

I put it in Eco drive mode, but turned out auto start/Stop. I’m sure R could do even better in DSG (I know you have ) since there’s a whole other gear to derp in

maybe so. I doubt the final drive is THAT much different.

True. I was pretty impressed. I average around 35-40 depending on traffic and route if I’m doing a highway commute.
