You want a cheaper loaner as in they’re making you pay for the loaner? Lol
It's free for a day, but after that the following rates apply to me:
$45 - arteon/atlas
$20 - Passat/Jetta/Golf
I traded up for a passat on my way to work since it is a savings of $75.
Extended warranty should cover any out of pocket costs due to loss of use that includes loaners.
Weird though because with our loaners I’ve never had to pay for any day. Only time there was money involved was when they needed my car for a week and it required an actual rental. The warranty company covered it though

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.

I had 4 loaners throughout my VW ownership that took 5 days at most. When my engine :nuked: they reimbursed my rental up to $30/day iirc for dat shitty mirage, boy does the time fly.

Is that a dealer thing or an extended warranty thing? It seems to me that a loaner is a loaner, and if you have to pay for it, it becomes a rental.
Good question, I think the extended warranty only covers one day of rental and I guess the dealer considers their loaner cars rental cars but hook me up often. I've used their "loaner" twice before and never paid for it so maybe that's a good customer service thing.

Just got back from the . They want $246 for the haldex service and $178 for a brake fluid change and clutch bleed.
The haldex service does include them removing the pump and cleaning the filter. Reasonable?
For the brakes, car has to have all wheels removed and each caliper bled so going by the time it takes to do the job at something like $100-120 an hour labor rate.... yeah that's about right.
I have no idea on the haldex.
You should have dropped off two first class round trip tickets to Thailand last week to your service adviser. Everyone knows this.

I'm not sure about pricing yet, but our schedule includes haldex service every 3 years irregardless of mileage. So I can't see why you'd have to do it now since you also have a 17

You sure? I thought the haldex was 30k or 3 years, whichever comes first.
3 years for me would be February so I'm probably just going to do the brakes a couple months early.

I was asking about it today and Steven my service advisor confirmed it for me since it just changed this year.

I guess the question now is whether or not you fairly compensate your service advisor? How many vacations have you sent him on?
And I'm actually looking at the service manual right now. There's no mention of the haldex at 30k or 40k.
VW forgot about us.

Shoot, I knew I forgot to do something today. I'll probably look into vacation getaways on Monday. In all honesty service is really good at my local
I'm just really glad that it's just a sensor in my case and not a short circuit. Short circuits I like external damage, rocks ☄ for example, would be fun trying to go back to insurance on that fiasco again!
My 17 year old daughter has her heart set on a "New" Beetle. She does not have her license yet but here is a 2002 with 150K miles for sale for $2K at a local used car lot. Does anyone have any experience and/or insights into "new" Bugs?

What engine? The 2.slo will last forever, the 1.8T, not so much, iirc.
Where are these mangos?

Um... a 17 year old VW that has 150k miles on it... with likely no maintenance history ... about to be piloted by someone who doesn't know what a RPM stands for... what could possibly go wrong.
