I should really buy something like this. I put next to no miles on my fun cars, this thing would never depreciate for as long as I owned it.

It seems pretty rare to find one optioned like that. S in a real color, non-black interior, sport seats, sport chrono and with nothing else? combo. Not surprising that it was actually driven a lot, that's a combo that someone who plans to drive it would probably have to special order.
Whenever the time comes, I really need to drive some Cayman vs 911 examples to decide which I prefer. I assume it's the Cayman, but the 911 is possibly more practical with the extra rear seat storage space vs the baby hatch.

On one hand the Cayman supposedly would drive better. On the other hand the 911 has more space for activities and Porsche neuters the Cayman so the 911 is the big dick car.
Agreed on the sport seats + sport chrono combo. Those are the two options that would really make a difference driving. The rest from that era are mostly unnecessary.

that max isn't here to slap some sense into everyone reminding us that it's $30,000 for a 12 year old Pcar that has driven halfway to the moon with an unreliable motor that at any moment could require a repair that would cost $66% of what the car is worth.
:luda:
way too high on miles.

Or $30k for a car that looks identical to any $100k+ new one and is in many ways better to drive?
My interest in Porsche begins and ends with the 987/997 cars, possible exception for a 1999 Carrera 2WD with rare LSD option.

I really don't think the miles are too high if it's been maintained, which this one clearly has. This is a great buy.

I agree. Just know what he'd think and he's not here to throw it out there for 5 pages of banter.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:07 pmOr $30k for a car that looks identical to any $100k+ new one and is in many ways better to drive?

Nah. He's just sitting in his M3 by himself about immigrants and paying too much for used vehicles.

If all you care about is badges, it's pretty hard to beat "Carrera S" for $29k

It's still an ancient 12 year old Porsche with high miles. Anything over $15k is a rip-off.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 4:38 pm If all you care about is badges, it's pretty hard to beat "Carrera S" for $29k
