runs low on the list, it would have been slotted third from the bottom in this year's trials. I don't see why people trackday Gorfs and GTIs as much as they do, makes little sense to me:

tires is issue #1. If you could put 265/275 squares up on that breadbox it would cut 5 seconds of that time

2015 gti and 2010 gti identical times ... but how ?! Mqb is woooorlddss bettter. The aprrr tune gets 400 wheel hp fake news
That 2015 was the non-PP model. The PP is higher up. Everyone loves the PP.

These guys aren't pro drivers. And IIRC the first Mk7 GTI they tested did not have the PP.
One thing that's nice about the Motor Trend comparos is that they have Randy Pobst do the track times. And I think that new brit for them has racing experience as well.

still. It's the bottleneck like you mentioned. The silly part is that the fender design doesn't allow for much wider then 245, which practically speaking isn't too bad. If they wanted to do better they'd need to change that spec. Gorf sits stock on 235s fyi

Really though that XDS faux diff can eat a dick.
Apples to apples not every gti has xds. Just goes to show that there isn’t THAT much different between the models and why when people want :something different: and an egg is an egg it makes some sense
I’m curious how bad a civic sport hatch would do on there, the chassis is the same as the R which did really well.

Yaaas same as civic sport. As opposed to a 2015 335m sport with a 58k sticker price

I think those humongous 20s on the CTR are 255s
The CTR also has a well thought out but very performance oriented suspension setup all of which help it slay on tracks. I bet the civic sport does some GTI like times.

I was talking about the sport ? R has 245s on nice rubba.

R has revised mcstruts to reduce scrub radius or something.

I combined your two posts/thoughts. Ok so the 245s and nice rubber impact times, but the Sport wont have that, so it probably trackdaybros like the GTI base IMO. Totally a guess but it leans on your philosophy.

Yep, those wheels + tires + the diff for the CTR is worth 80% of the delta, 20% is likely the power. Just interesting to see how capable the chassis is with proper tires.
