Yep, and it's apparently garbage.
I believe the pre zf8 for BMW’s also used gm’s 6 speed auto. Ive driven my ex coworkers 328xi and compared to my moms old ‘11 f10 535i, it is night and day.
Yep, the E90 328 6AT was a GM transmission. The 6-speed worked fine though, just slow.

Well it isn't a rebadged BMW 240i marked up 10k sold by toyota. Of course it is. The entire forum is ordering that RIGHT NOW!
Well it is the Supra forum :iono: . If I want say a C63 AMG, I would lurk their forums or become a member and ask questions.

Correct. The GM 8 speed is garbage and problematic, while the ZF 8 speed is nice.

I think GM only caught a little bit of shit for offering the Z06 with an automatic. These aren't the 4L60E days.

But I do recall numerous articles complaining about the Supra not getting a manual when that news broke a few months back.

Uhh the m2 cs still comes with :manuel:
Cool. One car versus what used to be the entire line-up.

The car looks sharp and reviews well. Drop the price or give it some more boost from the factory. 400 hp would be more in line with $50-60k.
0-60 in 4.1 sec, does it really need much more power? That's pretty quick. Gearing must be :jimp:

Audi is doing the same, I get it, demand is lacking, progress and all that shit.

Seem that all but two seaters, and things like hot hatches are going manual.

It’s just the same 8 speed found in my dads Chrysler it’s a nice tranny
And my car. It's a fantastic transmission and anyone that doesn't believe that is showing they have absolutely zero idea what they are talking about. You wouldn't know it's not a dual clutch without being told.
:dat: :dat: ZF8 forevah yo!!! I has 107000+ km's with it in the M235 that just got traded!!! No need for manual evah :) BMW races the exact same trans as well!

But also, fuck Toyota and BMW for this car being automatic only. Even depreciated to $30k I'll have exactly zero interest in ever owning one.

Go drive a PDK 911 or Cayman-S etc. You wont fkn miss a manual. Do it with an open mind. If you are serious about putting power down and performance its the only game in town. I loved my M235i with the ZF-8 and I love my M2 with DCT. Im not going back to manual unless its a low powered classic type machine. Performance auto/PDK's are the shite.

Its not about fkn racing. Its about a personal choice in your sportscar. Nothing more. I gave the poster my thoughts based on experience not track day banter.
