Correct. The GM 8 speed is garbage and problematic, while the ZF 8 speed is nice.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:16 pmGM doesn't use ZF 8 speed... it is their own design last I checked?Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:03 pm
I drove a 2018 Sierra with that 8 speed. I hated the way it drove.

I think GM only caught a little bit of shit for offering the Z06 with an automatic. These aren't the 4L60E days.
But I do recall numerous articles complaining about the Supra not getting a manual when that news broke a few months back.
GM's 8 speed is garbage. The ZF 8 speed is awesome.
And I agree: fuck both Toyota and BMW for killing manual options.

IIRC, the m2 cs replaced the regular m2, but 405 hp (slightly toned down m3/4 engine) s50??Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:58 pmCorrect. The GM 8 speed is garbage and problematic, while the ZF 8 speed is nice.

The car looks sharp and reviews well. Drop the price or give it some more boost from the factory. 400 hp would be more in line with $50-60k.

Go drive a PDK 911 or Cayman-S etc. You wont fkn miss a manual. Do it with an open mind. If you are serious about putting power down and performance its the only game in town. I loved my M235i with the ZF-8 and I love my M2 with DCT. Im not going back to manual unless its a low powered classic type machine. Performance auto/PDK's are the shite.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:02 pmI think GM only caught a little bit of shit for offering the Z06 with an automatic. These aren't the 4L60E days.

But also, fuck Toyota and BMW for this car being automatic only. Even depreciated to $30k I'll have exactly zero interest in ever owning one.
And I agree: fuck both Toyota and BMW for killing manual options.

Which is why they are raced far more than porsches. But porsches are far better for the street and country club, because that's the income it takes to have a 150k toy car.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:23 pmCorvette is superior to a Porsche in pure performance.troyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:20 pm
