I get that. But man, if your car needs ten thousand dollars of repairs in 4 months..... I'd say that's a pretty fucking bad scenario. How many month's pay is literally evaporating due to a piece of shit car?Detroit wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 10:43 amSeems like he likes to follow all that ridiculous financial advice about having massive cash hoards always in reserve for "just in case" something. Like job loss or whatever. From what I've read, other things like car should be dealt with without touching "emergency funds".
Trade car in, dip $2k into emergency funds for more down payment or whatever.... I don't see how that's a bad call.

Oh, I'm 100% with you, and it's how I plan my savings. If something comes up, dip into the reserves to cover, and then be extra frugal the next few months to pay myself back.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 10:46 amI get that. This is bad according to r/finance or whatever. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LOST YOUR JOB AT THE SAME TIME AND COULD ONLY COVER 8 MONTHS OF EXPENSES
Reading all that will make someone with $1M in cash feel poor. It's ridiculous.

But I guess I'm DIW because I need to be able to pay for 12 months of expenses from losing a job plus emergency flooded basement repairs and dog needs leg amputation and surprise we're pregnant.
You can only plan for so much.

So crang made a point to say he was at a dillership and didn’t have cell service. I’m thinking he was there, was dillering, he had the thought that he should reach out to Z but couldn’t, and the did their usual thing and wouldn’t let him leave without a . We already know crang can’t stand his ground in person so it fits.
