No, the description of the car said the owner bought it for his wife. Then he put 5k into mods.
My wife could not care less about what she drives.

I'd rallycross that. Hard.
Unless... Memory is hazy... Can you completely turn off the traction control off on these?

30k is . The clutch can't hold much more than stock power so the right mods were stacked to squeeze out the gains that the stupid Germans couldn't figure out how to extract.
Wife probably doesn't even know how to drive stick, if there's even a wife IRL, this is a play on the classic lady driven BS. No warranty on drive train, so it wouldn't be a car I'd buy personally. Stock examples are likely similar in price with similar mileage.

Honestly, if that car holds together and the clutch doesn't chatter like a mofo, it's probably legit fun.

Of course it is. Who doesn't want to drive an AWD car with a TOON that unleashed all of that horsepower left in reserve?
The party ends quickly when driveline components start blowing up left and right. You can get a Golf R for $37K with a 6 year, B2B warranty or $30K for one with no warranty but much flatbrim Waterfest cred.
I'll take the former.

Is the driveline that weak? I know the clutch is weak, which has been addressed. But the rest of it?Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 6:45 pmOf course it is. Who doesn't want to drive an AWD car with a TOON that unleashed all of that horsepower left in reserve?

the oil leaks due to crank case pressures
the puking DSG transmissions due to overheating
the DSG shutting down due to torque overloading
the driveshaft guibos failing
the Cam follower issues on the FSI due to the NEW fuel pumps for all that power
the random check engine lights
the puked turbos on the MK7s
And that's just what comes to mind right now. Yea GOAPR BREH STAGE 3 or GO HOME YOU PUSSY

When you're backing power increases with a Tremec 6060 and other substantial bits, that's one thing. I just do not associate robustness of driveline parts with VW in any way, shape or form.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:05 pmMoran OEM engineers leave a lot of power on the table.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 6:55 pm

Nor do I. I would get an R in a second if I were in a 1 car only situation, particularly if it was an urban setting. I would just enjoy the fancy new warranty and skip the TOON. You're faster 0-60 than 98%of errthang.Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:09 pmNor do I. SUV like only with the seats down. The actual trunk area barely fits a check in suitcase, and even then the stupid cover is in the way.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:23 pmNaw the R has SUV like storage capacity, your screaming valkyrie of facist oppression does not.
Dafuq you need that for ? You transporting used dishwashers as an uber freight driver? M3 has plenty of storage space for 2 DINKs, and can take 2 dinks + their useless friends to a useless date place. Ain't nobody gonna need more room than that.

M3 is also double the price.
