Insane 4 door rocket with proper high spec Auto gearbox. DCT is dead. Modern auto's are the shite. If you own one keep it here. Having this is a nice conversation piece in the US unless you track it. Even here its hard to use the power unless holiday and no one is working or on early weekend mornings. Its almost a second car. For a daily get a 340i if you need BMW angel dusted 4 door machine.

re: transmission choice, it sounds like BMW are taking a page from the Mazda Skyactiv book with the quick lockup of the TC in the automatic. The Skyactiv transmission was the best automatic I've driven in a long time and had no slush but also no DCT jerkiness. I'm sure this is just as good or better.

The M235i racing model uses the ZF 8AT for competition. That gearbox can take some abuse it seems. BMW and others are moving quickly out of DCT. ITs over.

I dunno how the M5 is a second car. It is perfectly comfortable to be a daily and enough power to smoke anything short of a P100D.
An m2 :manuel: is a great second car.

If you're rich you can DD the M5 through all 4 seasons and turn it in right before the warranty ends. That's the life bruh

Wow, this is legit :impressive: I think it looks way better than the M3/4...a bit more subtle like M cars used to look.

And is that matte red a legit thing? :mindblown:

Yeah the matte red is a first edition or something.

I love the looks. More subtle like the M3/M5 used to be.

Seems unattainable to me, firstly because its msrp is drugs, and once it's finally depreciated i will likely be avoiding the car for it's pricey repairs/parts. In this way I don't get the excite like I normally would from anything that 1/4 miles as quickly as motorcycles that I've owned. I'd love to rip one around for a day.... i need some :waxer: friends!
