Yea I think you wouldn’t be too bad of a candidate for this vehicle. You can do most basic things yourself ... and pay some shop $2000 to swap the rod bearings every 70k or so. Not too shabby for having the only V8 powered m3 gen madetroyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:36 amI really want to test drive one of those sometime. These are cool cars. They're getting to the 3-4-5 owner stage, so that's generally when things really start to go downhill. But you could probably find a 2-3 owner one for cheapish. $30k sounds pretty solid for one of the best driving vehicles of it's day. Aside from the crank bearings is there anything else on these that'll a wallet? Kind of like porsche IMS... just replace it right off the bat and you're going to be clear for as long as you own the vehicle, factor it into the cost to buy.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:31 am https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/ ... 28369.html

I'm about longevity on the DCT, but haven't researched it. The rod bearing thing isn't too bad since there is a permanent solution available from the aftermarket. Still, it's triple to quintuple the cost of my car...Johnny_P wrote:These are cool cars. They're getting to the 3-4-5 owner stage, so that's generally when things really start to go downhill. Yeah that's the hard part. Is it 3-4x better than your car? Some may say yes. If solely looking as an autocross car then IDK probably not.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 10:20 amI'm about longevity on the DCT, but haven't researched it. Also have no idea on the DCT. I doubt it's a cheap piece of equipment to repair / replace though.

If it had the dct it would be purrrfect. I don’t think the :Manuel: makes sense in this car.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 11:25 am M3 for $85 grand

The options on it are $5600 for exhaust and another $1500 for a rear diffuser no one sees. 7k basically set on fire
On top of that 5600 for a special color and 1500 for some special interior trim I can’t even tell it has... this car has literally over 14k in useless options no one can tell it has

Wonder what the with this one is... I know that they put low non negotiable prices up and are all about volume, they got tons of inventory, all B quality off lease vehicles.
Man m3 prices are going to TANK once the 16s/17s come off leases. Ain’t nobody buying them used and so many people got great leases 15-17

So manual = DCT lol. Id offer them 42k. They probaby gave 40 or less for that. No shortage of 15's for sale from what I see online etc. At this age now over 3 years the low miles dont mean that much at all. Just getting older by the day.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:01 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd/d/ ... 84487.html
