I'm sold on the concept, I'm not sold on the actual cars.
I like rumbles, vape juice and mudflaps

It always comes back to C5/C6 when you look at performance per dollar.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 5:43 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/d/ ... 38691.html

Always has always will. C6Z prices are under 40k... killer price for the performance... then again a new C7 is around 48k... not THAT much more and comes with a warranty...troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:34 pmIt always comes back to C5/C6 when you look at performance per dollar.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 5:43 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/d/ ... 38691.html

500 hp 3100 lbs vs 450 hp 3400 lbs on C6Z vs C7
C6Z is a beast if you can actually stretch its legs, better looking too IMO.

My car with 440 whp is ridiculous. I can't imagine another 100whp on top of that.
Gear probably make the difference. Dat 7L probably has more torque...
If they came in a targa version, I'd be tempted.

Yep straight up performance is a no brainer, C6z wins by quite a margin. But the C7 is a decade newer, safer, more fuel efficient, and will come with a 5 year warranty and exactly 0 farts.troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:47 pm 500 hp 3100 lbs vs 450 hp 3400 lbs on C6Z vs C7

Of course apples to oranges but it is what it is.

IIRC you can relatively easily convert a C6Z to a targa. It's been awhile but I think it's pretty simple.

It's pretty well known that LS7 heads are faulty around the valve guides. "Heads fixed" is nearing "IMS bearing fixed" in commonality between C6Z06 for sale posts. I wonder if I could find one that needed new heads and did the work myself. Could be

This thing is way underpriced, most other 04-05s with similar miles are 23-24k. Wonder if there's an accident somewhere that never made it to the CarFax. Looks clean AF, doe, even the driver's side bolster is in good shape. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... hare_other

I know! The thing is so old, the dealer can do whatever they're willing to take on. I know there's a number of dealers that restore or mod vehicles around the country.
This thing is probably done to an incredible standard.

I like the ZR1 Ramz a lot, this car is all there.
Srs. questions about passing smog with the head work, headers and intake. It is not discussed.
$38K to cover summer and fall tuition? Where's he going, Stanford?

If I were to do something crazy like ditch the STi and go get an S2000, my tendencies would force me to get a much more poverty daily than a new Crosstrek. Probably something like an 03-07 Accord, and I don't really want to do that.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 7:26 amTrade in STI this plus a crosstrekcoogles wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 10:08 pm This thing is way underpriced, most other 04-05s with similar miles are 23-24k. Maybe wishful thinking, but assuming I can keep the Subie and get it paid off by then, I'd rather wait until the 2019 ND2s are a year or two old and pick one up then. More revs & pow sauce than the current version, but still with a curb weight 4-500 pounds lighter than the s2000. Will be a great compliment to heavier, grippy daily.
