Anything under 10k you’re gonna have to work on that’s the name of the game.
Pretty much :dat: except for maybe cheap late model sedans. I'm seeing some iA's for <$10k for a 2016 with <50k miles. That won't need any work for quite a while.

DesertSpec 540i that is super clean.

Still old "merc"'s seem to last 300-400k miles if maintained, BMW usually explode by 200k miles without question. There are major catastrophic failures engineered into them by that time point.

This seems like a decent vehicle for :aintcare: motoring. Minus that hideous camper shell.

Subframes that break loose
Vanos that gets fked
Carbon build up in the M5 that requires an entire engine rebuilt by 100k
Rod Bearings on every single M car, i still don't understand why... and only why in the M cars.
Automatics usually don't last past 120-150k because BMW claims "lifetime" fluid.

Looks in good shape. The E92 Coupe with those ramz is especially pleasing to they eye. Plan on throwing another 2.5K at it and you're good to go.

This should last another 50K miles without major issue.

Golf R's are almost in the 20s... I think by the time I am in the market for a car (July next year) they certainly will be... too bad 2018+ models are so much nicer inside with that fancy dash and Navi unit. Ugh!

I think that’s the route to go on these. I also can’t have a white one as I’ll have “the same car” as before

DSG gets you 0-60 sub 5 if you really try hard, but even just squidding around town feels quick because the gearing is short and the programming is really well tailored to the engine power.
The most popular color on the R is that dark silver/pewter, i think blue or white rank second and red is least popular, its kind of owned by GTIs.

They won't be the rare slowly depreciating car that the MK6 R once was, just too many of them built, but they will likely stay in the same price realm as an STI, which to me means a beat up run to the ground used one gets like 12k+, and I'm great with that.

Seeing a bunch of dual sports the last 2 times we've been playing around in the woods makes me want one even more. No storage for one right now doe.
