Exceptionally fine example but I don't love the 235i. The M2 changes ALL OF THAT for me though.Davestr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:55 pmOver-ruled Counselor!! You may not approach............Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:25 pm

The M2 is a car worthy of occupying that third bay in the garage, the car you only commute in on nice days and take out just to drive. The 235i is the car for someone who uses it as an only or primary car. In purpose, it's a less practical GTI.

Funny how fender flares change so much. I think the 1 series looks like a piece of shit. But slap some fender flares on it and I get a boner when I see an 1M. The 235/M2 doesn't have the same effect on me though, but that's probably because I like the 2 series base car.coogles wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 2:02 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:58 pm Exceptionally fine example but I don't love the 235i. M2 looks good, 235i looks like a jelly bean to me. It is far more pronounced than on the M3/335i side... then again most people can't tell the cars apart either way and have to defer to the badge numbers.

I am with mr Desert on this one. I LOVED the looks of the E46 M3, it was perfectly proportioned. The 235... meh..Davestr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:55 pmOver-ruled Counselor!! You may not approach............Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 1:25 pm

The M235i is the do it all. Fast when needed, luxury and a compliant nice smooth ride if not in the sport modes. Ive not kept a car this long in a while. Had the M235i 4 years now.

I tested the new M2C recently. Its 7/7 2 days in it last week. Factory dealer test car. Seriously impressed and I love my M2. The power delivery is a touch smoother/linear vs my Non C M2. Couple pics to enjoy -Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 2:25 pm The new M2 gets the M3 engine, which would make for a 5/7 Bimmer.

Dealer has a nice Hockenheim Silver M2C on the showroom. Not a bad color and the car looks best with the M437 wheels vs the new factory wheel seen on most of the M2C's. In Germany you have more wheel choices on a new order.

Just old car shit...
Rod bearing jobs every 60-120k.
Some random electric issues, (car not locking for some odd reason0
Sounds like absolute garbage in stock form
Shifter is shit in colder weather, hard going into 1st, when cold, crunchy gears etc "they all do that BS"
No power under 4000rpm, so you have to go through a crazy RASP(see US emissions BS above) while keeping up with minivans.
Vanos (all of em fail soon, and have to do some Dr Vanos bs)
Just so much work for a car that is worse than a 370z in every dynamic way. I can see "collecting" one but that vehicle is dead to me, for DD purposes.

+1 one needs to 'want' the car and all that it brings with it.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 2:46 pm Just old car shit...

Yas Marina blue M3 competition with 18" base wheels is how I'd place my order. But thanks to Communist emission standards in Europe you can't order one since may. The hypocrisy of allowing Fiat Punto diesel to pollute the streets for decades, but a new clean vehicles... yea... electric only.

I "treat" my M3 like garbage by enthusiast standards, daily driving, 1 bucket method, 1x a month wash, parked outside at work etc. But it is in far better shape than the ones I looked at with similar year/miles to mine. Scuffed up shiny seats + steering wheel, wheels rashed to shit etc.
