It's set up properly, will give many miles of NFG motoring, and I literally need to do nothing to it. That's a fair argument until I just want to get out of fun cars completely.

Epic power and tire to weight ratios. Thing must be an absolute beast with nothing short of an F1 car outhandling it. I wonder if the driver can literally pass out in a high G turn given the immense grip that thing generatestroyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 9:52 am https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t

Fabulous machine.
Is this a bad idea? https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... P=atempest
Seems a little bit beat on but it has the oil sump installed which is cool. Probably not bad for my daily beater/occasional track use scenario. Kinda tempted to go buy it but I need financing or the sold first.
Edit: more detail here: https://columbia.craigslist.org/cto/d/c ... 97982.html
This kind of seems perfect. Low cost of entry, don't have to care a ton about adding miles, use and abuse, scratches at the mountain bike trail head. The IMS bearing fix is done too.

Shittily repaired bumper, seriously that's the worst prep job I've ever seen
Bro stereo
Has a CEL for O2 and coolant sensor
5-owner car
IDK man I'd tread carefully on this. If it were a Miata I'd say whatever because cheap upkeep, but 5-owner Porsche with bad repair jobs and flatbrim-esque mods..... The flaking paint and curbed wheels who cares if it's a track car. I'd be more worried about kids that bolted on shit, or cut into wiring harnesses for dem subs, etc.

The underdrive pulley on those is to avoid grenading the power steering pump from sustained high rpm and high load conditions seen on tracks... Clueless tunerboi?
The pulley and extra ps fluid cooler are pretty much necessary if you track the car hard - same thing with the high capacity baffled oil pan and front brake ducts. That car has been set up to drive hard.
Those cars (M96/M97-powered stuff) are really not made for tracking without those type of mods. Only the GT3 and Turbo will hold up out of the box unless you're slow.

The only modz on this I'm really turned off by are the stereo shit.
I also sort of want this track prepped E36 M3... https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/deta ... P=atempest
Could be weekend car/track car for only $7k. I think this would work well for my situation, but that is a lot of miles.
