In reality, I don't think I'm going to go through with it. I just don't hate the C5 at all, and I know if I make this move, I'll end up selling it for less than I'd like out of necessity. Essentially, I'd rather keep it than sell it for $16k. It's worth more to me than that, and since it's paid off with insurance and registration near free, there's no reason to take on extra obligation for a new thing because I'm bored.

Why would you hate it? It is about as good as a C5 is going to get, which is frankly but it ain't a C7. Just depends on what you want, considering that you barely drive it, it may not be worth while spending $450 a month... at your current driving rate... ~3k miles a year (250 miles a month)... that's almost $2 per mile.Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:07 pmChiron.

If you were to drive it more... I'd say I am driving the BMW 1200-1500 a month right now...

I've never driven a base car on base suspension. With 19s in the front and 20s in the back, I'm really if it'll be any better than my car...which the ride is what keeps me from driving it more. I've driven a number of Z51s with MSRC, and THAT is something I would drive more. Comfort mode on MSRC is pretty great.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:38 pmWhy would you hate it? Can’t possibly be worse than your car ?! But dubs suck. They have no business on street cars, imo unless they are Chrysler 300 sized. Then again ... my 370z rode great on the 19’s but it was far softer than the m3 I currently have... it would bottom out ... perhaps the base car is softly sprung for the old men?Detroit wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:18 pmI've never driven a base car on base suspension. I dunno man...2 inches larger diameter on the front and rear wheels. Even if the ride is magically better, the risk of blowout due to potholes is crazy. I've looked to find reviews of the base C7 ride, and most people say "don't bother" or "I wouldn't own a C7 without MSRC" or the like. The only way to find out is to drive the car, and perhaps I should do that.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:51 pmCan’t possibly be worse than your car ?! But dubs suck. I did drive the C5 to work today for the first time in weeks, and it's such a catch 22. It's never been more perfect. Everything works, it needs nothing, it drives fantastic, it's fast AF, makes great noises...it's the perfect time to sell it before something else goes wrong, but it's also the perfect time to enjoy it after all the work I've done. It should need nothing for a while.
I'm honestly a tad concerned that if I go drive the C7, they'll make me an offer I can't refuse, and I end up making a move that I don't necessarily need to make due to

Seems rather on the pricier side with higher miles, but I really like that color combo, red with gray wheels looks good !Detroit wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 10:25 am https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-Grand ... SwwAdbKpCu

These are super rare in this color combo and spec. Agreed that the price is a bit on the high side for miles, this should be closer to the low-$30k range. That's a hell of a value.

Ehh, at low 30k (theoretically), this is $20k less than any C7, even a base car. I'm not sure the value proposition is there. At $35k+, I agree that's beyond the threshold.
My C5 has lofted me to status here. If I got a new one, it would be full-blown
However, s are out there. There's still a greater-than-zero chance of me to a C7 this year.

Worth less than my STi and only 16k miles. Talk about the ultimate depreciation machine. Gorgeous, doe, sort of want it.

1 owner no bad history, I wonder why it didn't end up as a CPO?
And this is why I lease these things. Mine was "worth" 38,500 on my trade in, with 30,300 miles, and a nigerian on the carfax.
