I support an FZ07 decision. Solid bike, aftermarket is starting to come around.
If you're considering twins, add the latest Ninja 650.

i'll give that a shake too. They arent super common on used market yet. Im also concerned about seating position. I really do like the upright style of the fz07.4zilch wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 1:05 pmI support an FZ07 decision. Solid bike, aftermarket is starting to come around.

The used Ninja's will hit eventually and they'll be cheap when they do. I haven't sat on a 650 yet, so I'm not sure how they'll compare seating wise, but from pics, it doesn't seem to have crazy ergos.

I love the look of the FZ07. And the price is pretty solid too. If my back were better and I didnt have more use for bags I would be all over one.

keep hitting those weights and work on your core and the back will get better.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 11:29 pm I love the look of the FZ07. And the price is pretty solid too. If my back were better and I didnt have more use for bags I would be all over one.

Funny thing. I walked in to local diller where friends work. They had a lightly used 2017 ninjar 650. Nothing was logged in system on it but they had 6500$ on the tag. I'd guess they gave 5k on trade based on nada. I sat on it and will give it a test on Saturday.
Will compare to the FJ 09.
Richie is harrasing me that's it's a gay bike. I'd still love to find a 2007-09 SV 650 naked. Just nothing at a reasonable price locally. That market has dried up.

Gay bike? Pfft. Whatever. Give less fucks. Doesn't Ted give much bigger bikes a run for their money on his tiny Ninja? Buy what you want bruh.

yeah, and his is a 250. This 650 is pretty good. Ive honestly never had a bike with aero. It just looks like every other "crotch rocket" imho. The riding position isnt bad. The bars felt and looked cheap with the cast position.stripethree wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:57 amstripethree wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:56 am

You can put a label on most bikes, ride what you like and what you can afford.

best option is looking like buying the FJ 09 from my dad. He hasn't ridden it in a year now.4zilch wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 12:46 pmstripethree wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 9:56 am

That’s what the physical therapist said. And it’s what I’ve been working on.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:16 amkeep hitting those weights and work on your core and the back will get better.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Tue Apr 24, 2018 11:29 pm I love the look of the FZ07. Although if I get this. I won’t get the street glide. Can’t afford two bikes at once. So I need to evaluate how badly I want bags.

Lots of sport touring bikes have upright seating AND factory bags available. Yamaha FJ-09 being one of the best in market for that segment.Barnes93cb wrote: ↑Wed Apr 25, 2018 1:06 pmThat’s what the physical therapist said. I mean for the 25k street glide you can have a realllly nice kitted out ducati multistrada that does EVERYTHING better than the harley besides "feel like a couch"

Also evaluate your needs. I never even installed the OEM bags on my Multistrada - they literally sat on a shelf in my garage for 2 years of ownershit. I thought I needed them but in reality I wasn't going anywhere that needed more than a backpack or a pillon bag.

The concept of a couch is appealing. In addition to the bags. I could use the bags multiple times a week when I have PT. My boots, gym shoes, uniform, and gym clothes plus shower gear are a bit too much for a backpack. The bags on my Bolt are too small. But other bikes may have better options.
And I also wouldnt buy a new street glide. Im looking at something in the 10-12k realm.

That.
My RK Special was only slightly more expensive than my Ducati, but is so much more functional. Both have there places and neither are crap, IMO. If I could only own one, I know I wouldn't be selling the Harley.
