These have great reviews and this is a stellar sale. ~2 hours left on lightning :dill:
Wore these on today’s ride. With the medium filters they’re adequate. I tried a short ride with the max protect filters but I didn’t get one of them sealed all the way, so I couldn’t tell how well they worked. They’re comfortable, though slightly difficult to insert.
Updated review on these earplugs:

The max protection filters work pretty well. I can hear a bit more traffic around me and wind noise is reasonable
They're a pain to put in and take out vs. foamies
They're not as comfortable vs. foamies
They don't block as much as foamies which isn't a surprise and has it's trade-offs

A bit slow for an electric, but I am excited for Gen 2.

This.

It’ll be interesting to see if it pushes other mainstream manufacturers into the water.

Im actually a fan of that HD orange and the style of their electic bike. Not okay with the price. But the specs seem resonable to me.

Im also a fan of their FDXR. HD is stepping into new markets this year and I approve. Now if the prices would come down a little for ease of entry.

I hated mine. Took them out after 30 mins. They hurt my ears and didnt block enough wind noise in medium filter. They also kept falling out. :rage:

I wonder how much they detuned it. Obviously trying to hit some range benchmarks.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I bet they had it where they wanted and it only had ~60 miles of range so they started dialing it back. The Zero SR without the range extender has a range of 179 miles city, or 90 highway. and 0-60 of 3.3 seconds, so I guess the Livewire isn't all that slow for a first attempt.

another thing to consider is how many charge cycles. If it has a desgin life on the battery pack of, say, 100k, you make the pack last longer by reducing both the peak discharge rate (and charge rate but i digress) and its 'capacity'

Of course. You also make sure that the number of cycles in the life just safely exceeds what you expect to be the time the warranty covers. :)

Is the KTM 390 Duke still the only low end thing that's remotely like that?

Pretty much. BMW GS 310 R is also naked and looks pretty good. The KTM offers the best performance for small displacement nakeds currently. If Kawasaki makes a naked version of the Ninja 400, it'll more than likely be pretty close in performance.

A used ninja 250 is a great starter bike. This is a pretty good city bike. The Honda 300 engine is pretty anemic compared to its competitors and holds it back when you want to spend time north of 50 mph.
