The tank is installed on my bike. My mechanic said it was a pain in the ass.
12 days until I land in SC and can get back to my vehicles.
12 days!
Home stretch man, that's awesome.
Yeah ill land in Baltimore the 22nd and spend the night in a hotel getting drunk. The 23rd I fly to SC.
Its so close to being done. These 190 days away from my everyday life sucked. But ive got a ride planned to the outer banks, new tank installed, and friends to go ride with.

I’ve been a Naked bike guy for awhile now, but for the first time ever I’ve been considering a superbike. I don’t really do long street rides anymore, and get most of my enjoyment on the track. I’ve ridden both of these bikes on the track and are really the only 2 I’m actively considering...except for maaaybe a 1299 Panigale if found reasonably priced.

I assume that the Yamaha is easier to deal with in general, but that's based on reputation rather than
Yamaha is a bit easier to work on engine wise. Electronics are on par with one another.
Yamaha is a bit lighter but is also down on a little power.
People rave about the Yamaha chassis
There’s lots of aftermarket and knowledge for either. Arguably the Ape is better out of the box and the Yamaha is better once you through some mods at it.
My sells Apes but not Yamaha, so there’s some loyalty there for me.
If I wanted to be a bit of a a Yamaha can be had for less doll hairs and would be a bit easier to sell later on.
Both sound

I'd probably get the RSV4 RR just because it ISN'T an R1.
I had two R1's back in the stone ages, 2000, and 2002. Loved them, don't get me wrong... but everyone and their brother has an R1. I'd rather get something a little different today. Especially since these bikes are approaching $20k these days and aren't "cheap" at $11k-ish anymore.

Fair assessment. Though, I don’t see many latest gen R1’s, let alone crossplane R1s. I suspect it’s a bit different out your way.
Here Sport bikes are generally gixxers or some other old clapped out thing. At my local track it’s 50% Ducati’s and an equal distribution of other things.

I feel like the R1 is badass enough and if you are tracking it on a merely semi- budget that it'll end up being a better experience. I'd be happy with an old R6 so what do I know...
