That's what I am trying to figure out. it is ironic AF that first it was zaino for YEARS, I still have my stuff that I never used up.. then it switched to Cquartz as the best answer... now it is something NEW again before I even used up all of my C quarts.
Also I am only looking for things I can apply myself. I don't plan on going to a "detailing" shop for a 1k bill for a coating + some BS paint correction.

Toss that in the trash right now and upgrade to TRC towels. You want at least 20% polyamide in your towels.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 5:52 pmI think that I have those. They seem fine. I can't tell the damn difference between those and my harbor freight ones
In a way the harbor freight ones are easier to use because they're thinner.

Meh, I don't even have a car so
I do have a gallon of adam's CS3 ceramic shit that I will consider using on the wife's car this year. Dunno, it's hard to care about cars anymore.

$500+/mo for something that I never used was insane. I don't drive.

I use the Uber drying towels from Detailers Domain. It doesn't look like they are on the website anymore, but if you do an internet search for them they pop up on a basically identical-looking website at philb.myshopify.com. No idea if that site is legit or not, it's the format of the old website but still appears to work. If it is, I highly recommend them. Super soft, super absorbent, and totally worth the money compared to the others I'd used previously.

So this came in. Overall 3.5/7 first impression. Main issue is that the towels are a lot thinner than I thought, especially the “big one” for drying. That’s probably my main disappointment. It seems like it would only dry 1/2 a car.
Mit is Great and probably my fav piece.
The microfiber towels seem good also. But I can’t say this is way better than the other stuff.

I just washed/scratched them last week so it’ll probably be another 2-5 months until the next wash. Unless I go on another road trip which is likely.
Before then I think I want to apply a new ceramic coating... but I think I’ll stick to Cquartz since I still have plenty left and this latest towel thing has me a bit trigger shy on wasting more money.

I can't wait to have a pressure washer at the new house. My S4 could probably use a "recharge" or whatever they call it on it's ceramic coating. It's not beading quite as well as it did before two winters.

This whole washing every few weeks is fking impossible for my OCD in the desert spring. Massive wind, dust layer, then a few rain drops on the dust to completely fuck everything up. It drives me insane.

This is the only negative about ceramic coating. Any dew I get in the morning creates dirty water spots over the ENTIRE car. Luckily it just rinses off, but I find myself washing my car more often because of that.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 3:08 pm This whole washing every few weeks is fking impossible for my OCD in the desert spring. Does it rain more down there than here ? We’re probably rain free for the next 7 months at this pointDesertbreh wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 3:08 pm This whole washing every few weeks is fking impossible for my OCD in the desert spring. Yeah I don’t like waffle weaves that much for drying. I have a set of “The Gauntlet” and those are the best drying towels I’ve ever seen. The Liquid8or is a close second.max225 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:30 pm
