Detailing:

I washed both Jeeps at the beginning of March on an unseasonably warm day. They're both more dusty than anything at this point.

Will probably wash them this weekend. The interiors stay pretty clean surprisingly, but I don't last long with a dirty interior.

I love bright colors...white and orange, doesn't show streaks or imperfections as bad.

Hey Y'all. Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to do a DIY paint correction on a 2010 Acura TSX.

The amount of Swirl marks on the woman's car is absolutely mind boggling. Could you please let me know that is a good way of getting 80% there. I am not looking for Zillspec, but I am looking for :nice:

Budget oriented please... as the car is only worth 8k so I am not trying to go full ENZO restomod here.

Best cheap polisher?
best cheap product/polish?
Best products to use for the money?
Easiest steps?

She's just going to take it to a nylon brush car wash after you spend 4 days detailing it.

She is not retarded. Her car is actually in decent shape, and is garaged 95% of the time, other when she is around my place. That said... Acura/Honderp paint is shit especially black paint...

So I am hoping to at least erase some of that age by cutting into the only thing that protects the paint... clear coat. If it turns out ok I will then Ceramic pretend coat the car and hope it lasts a little bit longer.

I did fine with a quick clay, then meguiars ultimate compound with the hazard fraught DA polisher and pads. Used it on several vehicles without any issues.

Like $50 in stuff.

I'd recommend getting one. You aren't correcting paint without one. I've had a Porter Cable since 07-08.

For a hand application, I would recommend a clay bar, Meguiar's Gold Class car wash, Griot's Garage detail spray, and Turtle Wax Ice, which will help fill in the swirls.

Yeah, I've been gathering parts. I will start a thread on it once I start really tearing into the car.

I've had my Porter Cable 7424 since 07-08. The new version is the 7424xp, and is about $120. I would suggest the hex pads from Chemical Guys: orange, white, and blue.
I use Meguiar's Mirror Glaze products for cutting and polishing. I would recommend a Medium Cut Cleaner with the orange pad, then the Swirl Remover with the white pad, and the Speed Glaze with the blue pad, but that is optional. I use the Synthetic Sealant 2.0 for the final coat.
If you go with the DA, I would recommend a Nanoskin clay pad. It cuts claying time down drastically. You can use a cap of car wash soap in a spray bottle of water to use as lubricant.

No problem. You may even want to use the Turtle Wax Ice instead of the Synthetic Sealant 2.0 due to it having fillers to mask any leftover imperfections.

Nein. I'm putting a Chevy small block in it.

The Impala was finished last October in time for my sister's wedding. My dad put about 250-300 miles on it before putting it away for winter. I need to change the brake master pushrod and we have different upper front control arms to install, as well.
