Gladiator is tough because the proportions look a bit weird. That loooooooooonnngg wheelbase really throws it off.

I personally love it, but it seems to be super polarizing.

I think the best thing for the ZR2 is to see it next to a regular Colorado.

Stock it's a tad too low for the proportions to be right, IMO. 2" lift with some 35's and we're in :jimp: territory.

A stock height Rubicon on 35's looks fantastic to me.

A 2" lift Rubicon on 37's is just about perfect for looks...but I'm not sure I'd want one.

37's are some big :meat:
It's funny when they towered over my :baby: last fall, she's nearly as tall as them now!

37's are just too much for a multi-purpose vehicle DD/wheeling/travelling IMO.

Yea...I'm still tempted to get a low-option Gladiator Rubicon and slap 35's on it. Done.

35's should be a FCA accessory option.

Who keeps buying them though? Previous 4Runner owners when their trucks are ready to go to syria?

They seem to increase in sales every year.

Everything “old school” and “off-road “ is flying off the lots. G Wagon, 4 runner, wrangler, Tacoma. If there was an fj it would fly off as well... and a bronco or blazer, but Chevy decided to go :fullretard: instead

A car is an expression to many. People don’t want to drive beige shitboxes quite frequently ... and with the record low unemployment they can afford the payments ... so it makes sense

What's interesting to me is the popularity of ancient off-road vehicles when the economy is good. 20 years ago, active lifestyle stuff was all the rage. I might be the only :derp: that remembers the Pontiac Aztek launch commercials, but they're pretty much what people are clamoring for today (the commercial lifestyle, not the vehicle). The XTerra was new 20 years ago...the XJ was around and selling like crazy, the TJ (only a 2-door) was still really popular, the Aztek became a thing (again, the concept was great, not the vehicle), 4Runner/Tacoma were new and popular, first gen ZR2 was selling like crazy, etc, etc, etc

Yep. People don’t change ... times were good in the late 90s early 2000s and late 60s early 70s. There is a very clear 20 year economic patterns to this.

The flip side is late 70s early 80s, early 90s, and late 208-14 or so saw the worst vehicles

Unlike the last time, there's no cars left for this time. I'm really curious to know what's going to happen to the industry during the next downturn.

We’re just going to into a beige podlyfe with everyone attempting to be an Uber driver in the middle making no money. Then when the economy rebounds again, it’ll be interesting cars at smaller volumes again. Same ol shit different decade

2020 Taco and 4R getting updated infotainment with 8" screens and ACP/AA/Alexa. 4R gets a new gauge cluster and ditches the TI-89 gauge screen for something higher res and color.

:notbad: little changes. No running gear changes. So 4R stays with the 4.0 V6 and 5AT, and Taco stays with its powertrain and rear drum brakes.
