Oh on the suspension. You probably could slap them on a lower trim and get a pretty decent result. Rear springs aren't quite as critical.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:33 amThe fronts are a unit. So I already reached out to the last night (local) to see if they are at sticker, website said they were. Waiting on the “market adjustment” reply.
FYI I contacted about 12 dealers in 4 states so far. When looking at the
9 were “reserved” the other 3 had markup ranging from $3000-5000

So now the question becomes between those two. Which one would you pick ? I’m torn... between fiscal responsibility, and a desire to do shit lolDetroit wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:35 amOh on the suspension. [user not found] is still with us even after 2 days of driving the most seppuku inducing transmission in automotive history. That's a significant fact.
Upside - easier to get, better off road, more relaxing

I'm on the BRO wagon. Extra cachet on a vehicle that is already bulletproof on depreciation. Makes a boring vehicle less boring. You also get something for your money. This isn't a $9000 "Sport Chrono" clock.

I was ready and willing to pay full sticker. But Toyota didn’t let me vote with my wallet. I am not paying a dealer to get himself a vacationHuckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:36 pmIt would also be one more wallet's vote cast towards justifying the death of

This is also why I think the transmission take rate that manufacturers use as justification to ax the is a skewed metric.

This is wrapping up the most extensive vehicle search I have ever done.
I have done some weird shit ...
Modded 335i lease I asked to get demodded
Peter Poons (real name) m3 comp
Hurricane stricken mini purchase in Florida
And Turd BRO that topped them all.

When they control the supply side and then complain about take rate.. that seems to make little to no sense. That said I’ve made my peace with the decision. After 6 months of dicking around trying to get my hands on one it is overHuckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:56 pmI agree.

I know I am for still preferring a
But we have the with the "best auto in the biz" and I find it is rather and wish it were a every time I drive that car. The Tacoma reportedly has one of the worst automatic transmissions sold, I know two people personally who have sold them because it was so bad, their words, not mine.

At this point it would be faster to pull a permit and extend your garage and get a Power Wagon.

When the was killed in the Colorado, I was in a meeting with a bunch of engineers up to the chief. "Nobody bought it so it's dead" they concluded. "We only offered it in the work truck, we didn't give people that wanted more options a chance" I said AS THE BRAND GUY. "Well, nobody wants manuals anymore, case closed".Huckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:56 pmI agree.

The reality is that there's a stupid amount that goes into getting a transmission into a vehicle. The cost is and makes zero sense...so the system is rewarded by reducing powertrain complexity.
I'm sure that's why Toyota controls how many they build...they probably buy all the manual transmissions and parts in batches and build them all at once to keep the flow of parts simple.

It is 2020... i called 2 places refusing to list the color/price of the vehicles and let them know what my offer is... $5k mark up on another one that is here locally. I told them I'll pick it up at sticker today. Don't think i'll get a call back.

My dad has a 2016 Colorado with a manual. You can definitely tell zero fucks were given on the truck's design in regards to the transmission. The center console is way too high to make shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th comfortable, and the car still has a foot pedal parking brake.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 3:11 pmWhen the was killed in the Colorado, I was in a meeting with a bunch of engineers up to the chief. But yeah, you could only buy the truck with a manual in 2WD, with a 4 cylinder, and in the base model or work truck trim. My dad's truck has power door locks and no key fob. Shit's fucking retarded.
And really, the lack of GM, Ford, or FCA offering anything remotely interesting/practical with a is one of the reasons VW got my money for my new daily.
