Oh, you missed the CT (Cuck Truck)?
I ordered it to replace my Gladiator lease. Tradesman with no options other than blue, 4x4, and off-road pack. 3.6 with 3.21 gears. Tows for shit, but it's a solid truck overall. It's really not as massive feeling as it looks. I'm surprised how quickly I got used to it.

And after our cross-country trip, the Ram is here to stay. Not the CT (for various reasons), but a Ram will be in our driveway for the foreseeable future.

Well yea, it’s hard to imagine driving something more comfortable than a full sizer with springs vs leafs.
Also what mpg are you getting ? We’re heading out into a 2300 mile road trip in 3 weeks, curious to compare.

Another quad cab 6' bed.
5.7 over 3.6 (the 3.6 had no place in a full sizer)
Unfortunately not a tradesman. The seat doesn't adjust up or down, which makes it difficult for the wife to drive. She's just being because she can't reach her ideal driving position, but whatever.
Up/down adjust seats start at Big Horn, but I hate the way the chrome looks on the outside, and I don't want 20" wheels, so I'm pushed into a Rebel. The tiny radio is horrible, so need to up to the 8.4. The level 1 group that adds heated stuff and 8.4 radio is good for that.

Terrible. I didn't even bother calcing because the indicated and range was so horrible. We're talking 15 not towing at 80, 10 towing at 65. I never got more than 300 miles out of 20 gallons.
The 3.6 was working CONSTANTLY. Could have been the 3.21 gears, but it's just not gutsy enough to keep that much mass going. A 5.7 absolutely would have done the same or probably better. The 3.6 makes no sense, just a value play.

Yea I was really curious about your experience. I have similar "issues" with the taco as well, the engine simply doesn't have enough "torque". I can't imagine adding another 1k lbs and probably 25-30% more frontal area for wind resistance. I get the trans working hard to make it happen but overall I would certainly agree on the 5.7 assessment.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:03 pmTerrible. My manager recently bought a 17 or 18 Silverado with the 4.3 and said he's averaging 15-16 a tank. The N/A V6 certainly seems to make no sense outside of a cheaper payment.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:03 pmTerrible. Needs 3.73s at a minimum.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:03 pmTerrible. I didn't even bother calcing because the indicated and range was so horrible. We're talking 15 not towing at 80, 10 towing at 65. I never got more than 300 miles out of 20 gallons.

Really? My 2016 Silverado (1SMP) managed low 20s regularly, and even 15 while towing my dad's Vagon from Dallas. I liked the 4.3 because of the torque, I felt it was a great base engine for a full size.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:39 pmMy manager recently bought a 17 or 18 Silverado with the 4.3 and said he's averaging 15-16 a tank. I'm curious to drive a Rebel with 3.92 gears, it might be the middle ground solution. I found the engine very fine in the JT with 4.10s.Apex wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:44 pmNeeds 3.73s at a minimum.Detroit wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 6:03 pm

Worse aero which being lighter probably impacts it more.

Could be.
3.21 with the 3.6 shouldn't exist. Gotta be some scam of the EPA.
