Also.. I don’t hate the Jeep truck thing. I wouldn’t buy one, but it looks

You done lost ya damn mind.
The concepts Jeep have been floating around for a while now all have a few things:
1) Unique spare tire mounting. It's kind of a Jeep trademark look with the tire on the back. Obvi that doesn't really work for a pickemup truck. But I think there could be some other creative options to store the tire aside from under the bed. Isn't under bed a bad idea for off roading anyway? I get why it was done, it's using the Ram chassis rear end, cost saving, etc. Just a missed opportunity.
2) They all have some sort of embossing or stamping on the side of the bed to look mil-spec, extra tough, 3rd world overlanding style feel to it. Why no low bed side with tie down hooks on the exterior? Why no stamping to make it look like it was welded out of ship plate and I beams for an Omaha beach storming? This 3rd world Toyota that sells for pennies looks better, with the creative off-road friendly spare mount, bash-me-up bed, tie downs everywhere, etc.
3) Was really hoping for a different face. It's just a plastic panel, it would have been easy to change it to resemble the wagoneer or some other throwback look, but heritage and 7 slot grille and yada yada whatever.

Weather is brutal here too. I don't know how I didn't die on my way in. Pretty sure I ran over something, likely a small child, and spent a good 20% of my commute backwards and on fire. Summer tires.
Look at this carnage.

Rubicon wins since the roof comes off, and the Jeep aftermarket is like 100x fold that of Colorado. You could easily make it climb the moon if you wanted to. Support is all there

Colorado tows 7700 lbs with a diesel.
Still, the Jeep is outstanding. It's going to put the entire mid pickup market on notice. Time for me to get that resume polished up.

I will be very curious to drive the Gladiator or whatever it ends up being called. The ZR2 is a fantastic drive, hard to beat in the segment IMO. I know the JL rides pretty great, but pickups ride very differently when accommodating for nearly 8k towing and 2k payload.
