Why is it “doing” something 6 hrs after I turned it off... no key near by didn’t unlock it. Also sounds like an air compressorDetroit wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 4:16 pmFuel pump doing something with the fuel system would be my guess?max225 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 3:13 pm https://youtube.com/shorts/lRtmDH3emVg

So bizzarre... like that seems like a risk to run a random component way after the vehicle is turned off... Also it seems like it was right on the dot after 5 hrs...Toyota Tacoma Owners Manual: Noise from under vehicle after turning off the engine. Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction.
And now we know why batteries don't last... random shit like this.

Completely normal. EVAP self tests. Charcoal canister purge valve check starts about 5-7 hours after key is turned off depending on engine/coolant temps.

Most modern cars do something like this in my experience. Toyota’s are louder than many.
911s have been recalled because it’s a common part failure.
Our Beep Beep sometimes makes funny noises like this while off, always just assumed it was something like this that’s meant to happen.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 8:07 pmCompletely normal. Fuel systems are complex these days. This stuff is programmed to happen just it IMO.D Griff wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 8:18 amOur Beep Beep sometimes makes funny noises like this while off, always just assumed it was something like this that’s meant to happen.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 8:07 pm

Really hoping it's I want to see the midsize segment continue to grow.

I'm hoping that it doesn't grow in size like all of the other trucks in the segment. The outgoing Frontier was a good size.
I'd like to see it retain a option, but since they dropped it for the final year of the current gen, I won't hold my breath.

As you've rightfully pointed out before, current midsizers are yesteryear's full sizers. Not really a bad thing because I think older full size trucks were the ideal size, I think some growth in the midsize segment is inevitable because of the ridiculous size of new fullsizers.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:47 amI'm hoping that it doesn't grow in size like all of the other trucks in the segment. The Beep Beep makes many strange and unpleasant noises... I don't love it but just ignore them. They are a small price to pay for a sub 7 second 0-60, easy passing, and 25 MPG in a rolling tent box.

The Blue Meanie makes its share of weird noises, too. The secondary water pump, or ever it is that circulates coolant through the turbro after shutting the engine off is waaaay louder than it was in my Mk6. Also, if I open the door to get something or to pop the hood to check the earl level it makes this little, quiet plaintive repeating beep that I have no idea what it's for or where it comes from. It does it whether or not I have the fob on me. Haven't been able to find any info in the either.

The 2.0 is really terrible sounding in all conditions. But it performs great, is reliable, and in a box so I prefer driving the JL to the T mostly because of the engine.

Yep. Never even run it on higher than 87.

#metoo... I sprung for "Mid Range" in UT and the West where regular was 85 , but otherwise, it's donkey piss. Thing runs great and is a relative torque monster, which suits the vehicle well.

In a 2-door, it's legit fast. Tons of fun. The engine will run perfectly fine (just down on power) on 87. One of these days I may put 93 in it just to see if there's that much of a difference.
